    ...It better not...

What really makes me feel better is that T-Mac WANTS to be here! This has to eventually help...It is unavoidable...

This is not the first time a Rocket player that has been traded has complained about the way the Rockets management treated them.

Maybe it’s time for the Rockets to consider a different approach to handling trades. This could really end up biting them in the butt.

I'm willing to bet Nick Van Exel and Sam Cassell told Francis to report and don't hold things up and get a bad reputation. Those two guys got a bad reputation and probably don't want Steve to get the same label.

I don't understand, has ANYTHING like this ever happen before in history of NBA trades, where a player UNDER CONTRACT basically has the power to decide whether trade goes through or not. Unbelievable!

I don't know if this is the first time, but that's why agents and GMs were roasting Orlando for letting Francis dictate this deal. It also shows that Orlando are liars, they claim Francis' attitude was effecting the deal then turn around and say Francis' decision to want to play in Orlando or not will effect the deal. Both sides of your mouth Orlando!

Correction: I should have said that Orlando claimed that Francis attitude WASN'T effecting the deal last night on ESPN now are claiming Francis attitude is the deciding factor in the deal.

I think the trade wil go through because T-Mac's only willing to sign an extension with Houston and Indiana.

But then again, I wish Houston's management had told him about the trade. I hate how they handle the trades. Kenny Thomas was shipped all of a sudden. The good thing was he didn't complain. They should talk to the players about it. It might end up biting us if we don't get T-Mac.

    I'm have growing concern because
this has always been a DESTINATION in the mix
because of the CLASS of the Organization

now . . we showing a tendency to all but walk up
to u in the locker room with a plane ticket
    [ala Phoenix and Chuckie Brown]

I don't know about the NBA, but Terrell Owens did it a few months ago when SF traded him to Baltimore. But TO is the best receiver in the NFL, while Francis is a top-25 at best...

FYI...Tom Tolbert just mentioned that an Okafor-Cato frontcourt would be damn good at defending the basket.

Heard the same thing. Gray said the NBA wants the focus on the draft today, then the new players tomorrow.

He made it sound like it's a done deal but they are just waiting two more days so as not to steal any thunder from the newest NBA rookies.

Would they announce a trade on a Saturday or do we have to wait until Monday?

Well if I was Francis I would have wanted the Magic to select Okafor. Hopefully he doesn't care.

What the hell is this crap?!?!?
    It's up to Francis!?!?
    What happened to sports?!?!?
    Franics the next T.O.

Hopefully Franics will make this all a PR move and try to save face by gladly accepting the trade instead of looking like the crybaby he's always been.

The Magic are stretching this out as long as they can and the Rockets are getting every hook caught in there mouth along the way.

Point is that the national media pretty much assumes this trade is a foregone conclusion.

Orlando should have picked Okafor if they really wanted Stevie to stay. Okafor, Cato, Mobes and Stevie could have done some damage next year. They would be really quick and possibly similiar to the Miami Heat. With Howard they'll probably have to wait a while for the kid to develop.

If this deal is balked at coz of crybaby, i see CD sending his ass to purgatory. LAC, Utah, Atlanta, or MIllwauke.

Lets see him cry his way out those places.

The past two Rookie of the Year's have been highschoolers (Amare, LeBron) so I wouldn't rule out the possibility of Howard contributing in his rookie season.

I'm sure this was reported somewhere here... you guys are damn good at digging up the scoop...

I think I read that McGrady would only agree to a long term deal if it were Houston... Anywhere else takes their chances that they might lose him for nothing. I think even if we don't get him now we will probably have him the following season anyway...

It's going to be an interesting season.

    Yao and McGrady...

    dude.

    Maybe Derick Fisher too...

    Things could be worse...

wrong... we have a shot this year, but t-mac much rather play with

    a) Shaq
    b) Tim Duncan
    c) if the Rockets stink it up in 04-05, just about anyone else!

TMac will be traded, so if it's not to us, he'll be traded somewhere else, and sign an extention with them, so no.
