http://grantland.com/features/nba-dleague-rgv-vipers-houston-rockets-future-of-basketball/ Very interesting read. I didn't know about Nevada Smith's background. He's such a troll, I love it.
the Vipers got a write up on Grantland http://grantland.com/features/nba-dleague-rgv-vipers-houston-rockets-future-of-basketball/ Interesting read, Nevada Smith seems like he will be making an NBA staff in the next few seasons.
This is a great article. Also, note to the admins/ moderators, I really think this thread should be moved back to the GARM. It has a lot of quotes from Morey, and is very pertinent to the direction and possible future of the Rockets team, not just the Vipers. Just my opinion, for what that's worth. Also, to Clutch, I would love for you to interview Nevada on your next podcast. I'd even be willing to put another sheckle or two in the tip jar... and I bet I am not alone on that. Chime in on this thread if you agree my fellow Clutchfaners. Let's make it happen.
So they play in Austin on Saturday March 15*. I think I might go and have a night out in Austin. *Night before my wedding
Interesting quotes: Are the Rockets being held back by the PG position at the moment? I didn't think it was as heavily dependent on the PG but rather all 5 players to be aware of their position and their teammates positions in order to make the right pass. Is the video coordinator right? Seems contradictory to me. continuing: Makes sense. One concern with this system: you need a roster that is smart/quick thinking as well as skilled/athletic which seems like a small pool. Another thought: A coach's importance to the team may be decreasing with this system. Is that a good or bad thing? About Tim Ohlbrecht: I'm not sure I approve of making a traditional back to the basket center try and stretch his game out to 3. A good close to the basket player is just as useful as a good three point shooter imo. Haven't finished the article yet! There's so much information
