Other Chinese players that haven't played on the Rockets but have been in the NBA are Yi Jianlian, Sun Yue, Wang Zhi Zhi, and Mengke Bateer. If you want to include pre-season, then Liu Wei is also on that list.

 

Comparing high school players with NBA starters is frivolous at best. They are in two completely different worlds. At least wait until they have a year of college ball under their belts and are heading into the NCAA tournament.

 

That's what you got to love about the Yao Ming Effect. All these kids in China that grew up watching Yao and the Rockets, want to play for the Rockets when they get older. We got the leg up on the rest of the competition.
