I was born in Michigan, so I also have some Pistons fan in me haha...That Detroit team was expected to be a mid level Playoff team going into Cheeks first year coaching. When that didn't happen Dumars panicked and pinned a lot of the blame on Cheeks thus shutting down the project abruptly...He didn't have any problems with management and many players (Jennings in particular) were very upset with the firing. He was basically fired before the team could develop any semblance of chemistry although the experiment never worked out in hindsight anyway...It's a shame, but one of the reasons Dumars no longer runs the team
