He led the Rockets to the conference finals so I am unable to hate on him. I'll be watching the comeback highlight video time and time again.

Sounds like he wants to stay. I'll gladly take a DMo/Smoove combo at the PF spot. I think Josh and Capela could be deadly in 4-5 pick and rolls once they work more with each other.

From his answers, you can tell he's not an easy guy to coach.

Also, LOL @ the ceiling question. Is he trolling Josh?

He stays. He absolutely stays. He destroyed the Mavs and pretty much led the charge back against the Clips and kept Blake in check. When he's on he's a game changer. He's the perfect backup 4. He wants to be here and I want him here.

I'm not so sure that he wouldn't get a nice offer elsewhere. You're spot on in my opinion that he's not good for a rebuilding team where he's supposed to be the leader.

Based on what I've seen from him I believe that he can be a legitimate "3rd star" in this league if he can improve his mental game. That means there's potential; but is that a good long-term gamble for many teams?

Sometimes it seems he's just lost out there; he's not alone though since the same is true of many players on the Rockets.

If it were up to me then Smith would be retained as long as there are no absurd competing offers.

We have a great group of players that'd like to see be mainstays. I believe the Rockets could have won the title this year if we had a healthy Beverly & D-Mo. Nobody should understate the dynamic negative impact of those injuries.

There are many obstacles for this group; aside from probable injury/longevity concerns, the largest obstacle is the team's overall mental state.

I say we have a few people we could cut, but nothing major.

    This IS a championship lineup

    Beverly/Terry/ ?
    Harden/Brewer
    Ariza/Jones/ ?
    D-Mo/Smith
    Howard/Capela

He is a plus for this team. Why would you not try and bring him back? For every "doh" moment he has, he gives you numerous good to great plays. Add in the nooo...yes! 3 pointers...come on...they are great aren't they? It's like a Christmas surprise each time!

DD has evolved into super troll. I'm not even sure he is the same poster he once was. He's a different man now.

Actually your comment makes you look clueless...and a biased McHale hater. He said " Yeah, Coach [Kevin McHale] has instilled confidence in me and the other guys. ..."

Many other coaches failed...and McHale has succeeded. How does that make him clueless?

Root for another team then, since you hate the players. More fraudulent fans than actual Rockets fans.

The bigs as it stand are strong. Howard, Montiejunas, Capella, Jones, and if Smith resigns reasonably.

If dumb Dragic had not taken such a piss poor position against the Rockets for not resigning him in lue of Jeremy Lin; the Rockets would be still playing.

So i could see TJones being packaged to bring in a quality point guard.

Which would prioritze resigning J Smooth.

and to be fair... a big reason we won game 6 against the clips.

though i would agree he needs a defined offensive set.
