You are offended by some trash talks on the floor by the losing team players?

Geez, get a league pass and go watch more KG.

I'm not a fan of how they described Beverley in the article.

It makes it seem like he's dirty and goes after players' knees...which might be what other fans think based off of that one incident, but it's certainly not the truth and shouldn't be the characteristic the author uses to fit Bev to Moreyball.

By "when it works" you mean "when our 3 pointers are falling"?

The two points I got from this is everyone hates the Rockets and Morey, and the writer adds a dig at Rockets fans who he apparently thinks aren't celebrating the hate as much as other hated teams of the past did(of which he was one of those fans).

This Durant calling Dwight a name thing is so utterly blown out of proportion. Players says downright offensive things to each other on a daily basis. You take a bunch of competitive people and pit them against each other and this is what you get. True, Durant is a mild mannered person, but he is also one of the most competitive players in the game which is why I'm not surprised to see him talking trash to Dwight and I bet Durant has said unsavory things to a number of players within the game.

...is the media really this stupid or are they just trying to drum up page views by creating a controversy in Houston? I'm sooo over it. Every single article is clouded by people's perception of Houston rather than what they really are.

I agree with what the article is basically stating. DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIP. Defensive teams are most hated because the are BORING to watch. In our system, we strive for max efficiency shots, conserving all our energy for defensive purposes. Isn't this what we were complaining about all last season? The Spurs actually do it to the extreme and apply it to the whole mentality of the season?! It is a system that does not heavily rely on player talent; that's why they have been relevant and championship contenders for the last decade! It's not about embracing hate, it's about embracing a paradigm shift in our team identity... ala Spurs. Embrace the system Breh!

Grantland is essentially a place for sports writers who think they:
    A) Know more about everything than you; not just limited to sports
    B) Believe nothing they write is ever wrong.
    C) It's like a college newspaper... lack of red lights/editing and total green light to write anything you feel like that day, as long as you use a new word you learned.

Essentially it is full of sports writers, who consider themselves "good writers," who don't understand the first rule of editing. Don't be afraid to kill your baby. Which essentially means don't be afraid to delete trivial garbage that you likely wrote on the page.

This guy is an utter hack, in love with adjectives and 'big' words.

I'm from Houston and I need the bottom line, not 99% fluff.

This guy is a 90s Knicks fan and he's complaining about our team... lol

Hakeem must have given him a deep-rooted, negative Rockets bias...

Actually, I've heard it said that there is no greater case of butt-hurt than John Starks butt-hurt. (I'm so glad he kept shooting).

I love this article. I've been saying this for a while now. Embrace the hate. Own it.

I don't want them to like us. It would be contrived. They didn't particularly like us when we won titles in the 90's, either.

Fine. Who the eff cares. We still had a parade.

And frankly, I don't like anyone else in the league, anyway. Why should they like us? I hate most other teams...I especially hate them when they're playing the Rockets.

Let them think that. Let them be freaked out about it. I hope the players he plays against are worried about their knees instead of their jump shot.

Let them be worried...let it be an advantage. We're smarter than you..we're gong to wear you down...and our PG is going to knock you out for a month because he's dirty.

I'm not interested in running from that sort of edge.

I read this garbage up until he started talking about Beverley. People's complete ignorance when it comes to Bev always pisses me off.

The problem is refs are always quick to blow the whistle whenever Bev is involved. His reputation as a "dirty player" leads to many ridiculous foul calls.

We should trade for Rondo to complete the triumvirate of hate. Then all we would need is a classic thug PF. Maybe Tarik could fill the bill with his high foul rate, or reacquire Chuck Hayes.

Didn't read every reply, but to me, that article is a compliment. The writer is saying that the Rockets are very good, and their supposed annoyance stems from being good. The Rockets are smarter and more efficient than other teams, as far as shot selection.
