I like the recognition of him being one of the smartest NBA players. Another thing that the article didn't mention is the fact that he's one of the best pick and roll players in the league but he doesn't run through the pick like almost everyone else. He's methodical and deliberate. He's slow through the pick, blocks the defender behind him with his body, then you can literally see him read the situation in that moment whether it's an open lane to drive, a lob, or if he has to back out. Almost all the ways he's been effective from the way he gets fouls to the eurostep can be attributed to IQ and a planned approach to the game. Not some ungodly athleticism. I really enjoyed reading this article. There is no doubt Harden is an extremely efficient offensive player for his position. Even though he is athletic, he uses his IQ and skills to get the job done.
