    An ‘Above the Rim’ Roundtable
Twenty years later, we talk Tupac, Kyle Watson, rap soundtracks, and Nutso

BY BILL SIMMONS, RAFE BARTHOLOMEW AND ANDREW SHARP ON APRIL 2, 2014PRINT
In the year 1994, the movies were great. Greater than usual. Blockbuster or indie, rom-com or action thriller, there was something indelible about so many of them. Throughout 2014, Grantland will look back at some of the most memorable, beloved, and baffling releases of that magical time around their 20th anniversaries. Today: Bill Simmons, Rafe Bartholomew, and Andrew Sharp on Above the Rim, released March 23, 1994.

I find it interesting that Duane Martin had a small stint in the NBA

Read that last night and sent it to a few people.

God writeup. Not sure why Rembert wasn't in on the roundtable but it was still good stuff.

Read it yesterday, just finished watching it again. Ahh, memories. Childhood. My favorite hoops movie. Tupac has some serious acting chops.

That's what happens when you hang around Barksdale's people.

    the first scene was memorable.

this is why nobody hoops on top of a roof.

    at night.

with no barriers preventing you from falling to your death.
