We're probably gonna get Dunleavy's large-ass contract. If we want to acquire Granger and Hibbert is untouchable right now, 7 foot 2 centers are hard to come around now.
U really think Morey is gonna rebuild this thing after getting K-Mart and signing Lowry and Scola to big contracts? I advocate rebuilding, but Morey isn't gonna do it. I'd keep K-Mart and release everyone else.
As I've said, I would love to rebuild. But right now, what are we rebuilding with? Budinger? Patterson?
Hill's a bruiser? We're talking about JORDAN Hill, right? Who has been abused night and night out this year. Patterson has been a much more aggressive player, and a better rebounder. And a better shooter. And pretty much a better overally player, inch of height difference be damned! They don't need a SF replacement, they have Paul George and Dunleavy. You have to give a little to get a little. While Yao's contract has some value, it won't pique the interest of a team like Indiana (since they have so much flexibility going into this summer, take a look at how many players they have expiring) unless you throw in lottery talent and picks. Like I said, Jeffries has to be traded now for a player with multiple years and a pick (maybe in 30 days PHX doesn't love Gortat [they must wait that long to trade him with other pieces] and throws him our way with a draft pick for Jordan Hill, Jeffries and Aaron Brooks. That could be the auxiliary furnishings of a Nash trade, but that's another subject.), so that we can offer Indiana at least two first rounders, in addition to salary relief and the willingness to take back their worst contract.
We have multiple players that are raw and developing. When you say you are rebuilding, some future franchise player doesnt magically appear to be developed. I am so tired of everyone saying "Lets rebuild"...we are rebuilding. Unless you have a specific trade in mind, stop throwing around this word because it has no meaning. edit - LOL and you are advocating rebuilding in one thread and trading for Nash in another.
Mayo might be easier to obtain,I'm willing to take a chance on him despite the gambling and other problems he is facing. I think he can mature with time. He wants to play.
Man, you dreaming. Trading getting Gortat + pick for Jefferies? Isaiah Thomas wouldn't even do that. Man I'd love to get back all these picks or whatever back for Jared Freakin Jefferies, but, no way bro. Regarding SF, Dunleavy and his big salary expires this year and no one knows if he's gonna be on the Pacers next year. He obviously wants a long term contract since he's a pretty good player but Pacers aren't gonna offer him any. So they have Paul George at SF left. So they need a SF. Whether thats Budinger or not, they are going to have a massive hole at SF if they trade away Granger. Patterson is the better player than Hill, however thats the reason I want to keep him. He can be our PF of the future after Scola gets old. Jordan Hill might not be the bruising monster Dwight Howard is, but he is still much more bruising than Patterson, who's much more of a finesse player. I'm sure Indy has enough jumpershooters, you don't reckon?
You know why? Very simple--Because as I've said:" I advocate rebuilding [My thread on it I think made that pretty obvious], but Morey is NOT gonna do that. So therefore, as much as I promote any kind of rebuilding, Morey is going to trade for his star vet. So when your boss says he is gonna go get a star, despite your protests, you want to ensure he chooses the best option, I advised on trading for Nash. Get it?
posted these before in another thread but since we're comparing Anthony: 24.4 PPG, 43.6% FG, 25.9% 3PT, 8.3 RPG, 3.1 APG, 0.89 SPG, 0.61 BPG, 3.07 TOPG Granger: 21.1 PPG, 41.6% FG, 35.9% 3PT, 5.8 RPG, 2.5 APG, 1.29 SPG, 1.00 BPG, 2.84 TOPG who's the better all around player ? if you can trade for granger, do it yesterday. we'll get a center at the trade deadline, in the offseason, or in the draft and be ready to roll for 2012. and if we're still without a C in 2012, send morey's ass packing because that's ridiculous.
Yao+Brooks+Hill+Clippers 2nd Rounder+Bud for Granger+Posey+Lance Stephenson Almost any reasonable trade not giving up Martin would be awesome.
I remember a radio interview last season when a caller asked Morey about trading for Granger, and Morey said "Granger is definitely not available," and laughed it off as if it were absurd to think Indiana would even consider it. So...if he did become available, would Morey jump at the chance to get him?
Grr! We have to improve on defense. Even if we get a Dalembert, if we get Granger, we'd better lose AB. Granger may not be awful on D, but he's a long way from Iggy.
Brooks, Hill, Jefferies and Battier for Granger, Solomon Jones and Posey. Pacers save a lot of cash and get young prospects in Brooks and Hill, expiring in JJ and an expiring Posey in Battier. I think that's a realistic trade. Anyone think the Pacer's would reject? Defensively, we don't slip and our rotation actually becomes more defined and consistent. PG- Lowry, Ish, Lee, T-Will SG- Martin, Lee, T-Will SF- Granger, Posey, Bud, T-Will PF- Scola, Pat, Hayes, Posey, Granger C- Hayes, Miller, Jones We would need to trade for a back-up Center (Thabeet) and maybe another PG. We would be back in the playoff mix and able to upset in first round depending on matchup. Also important the departure of Brooks, Battier and Hill would give more court time to Pat and T-Will. Get this done!
No way Indiana do that trade. They need a PF, not a PG. And why would Indiana trade 2 SF leaving only a rookie for those 48 minutes?
First of all give it up man were not getting melo and howard isnt available this year and even if we want to try for him we would have to bring over another star like granger to attract his attention. BTW granger is no borderline all-star and he would fit perfect with this team next to martin
