Understand your point but the problem for Morey is that there aren't any quality centers to trade for. He isn't going after anyone with a long term contract that might effect his ability to get his "star". Dalembert is an option but even if we make this deal, it won't effect another for someone like Sammy. Talent like Granger's do not become available very often and we all know that Morey has been waiting to use his assets on a guy like this.

I would like to start a thread about it, but I'm not sure if it's worthy. Who would you rather have?

    Granger
    G. Wallace
    CP3 &Okafor

Just remember, for the CP3 deal we will probably have to give up quite a bit more than the others. So rank them based on what you think we would have to give up and who you think we would be getting.

Actually that's a big issue....he has major health concerns.

I know I had him in fantasy and traded him because of it

Granger is a little bit overrated cause he never was in the playoffs and his leadership is very questionable. we already have a player with his abilities in Martin and I don't think that we really need to waste smth around 25 M per year on two guys that won't lead us to the great success. Much better thing is to come for Mark Gasol in the offseason and to give him a ten millions if we couldn't get Cousins, Favors or some valuable centers before trade deadline

I wish Martin was as good as Granger.

    lol

So some of you really think that he can play D on high level, create plays, shoot with high percentage from all over the angles and be a leader? Come on, you are talking about T-Mac upgrade, not Danny Granger. If he'll be that good:

    a) they would never ever consider the trade
    b) they would be in the playoffs last couple of seasons
    c) they would be better than 14|18 in dumb East with him, valuable center in Hibbert and young interesting point guard in Collison

The biggest need Indy has is for a young power forward to grow with Collison, Hibbert, Rush, and George. The trade should be centered around giving them savings and a young PF. They would likely like to have...............Patterson. I suspect that is what it is going to cost us.

    Yao's contract and Patterson for.......

    Granger and Posey

    plus Jeffries for Foster.

This gives Indy megasavings, a good young core to grow up to maturity in Collison, Rush, George, Hibbert, Patterson, and less than $15 million in payroll next season, along with going to the lottery to possibly pick up a big time talent to add to this young core.

This deal also allows for the possibility of flipping Granger to Denver along with some other assets for Melo. But it makes sense for both Indy and Houston if that doesn't materialize as well. Houston gets an upgrade. Indy gets young and cheap and the opportunity to grow into a true contender down the road at a much lower salary figure that may be manageable to keep their franchise afloat.

    stop fooling yourself please

He's just a finisher, as same as Martin. He's better defensively than him (it's not a big achievement although  ), he's better rebounder, stronger player and he's not a very good a leader and the main:

HE'S NOT AS GOOD IN CLUTCH AS YOU MIGHT THINK (sorry for Capslock but it necessary here)

    http://www.82games.com/0910/CSORT11.HTM

As long as Martin scores 23 points per game in 45-43-90 with 8.5 FTA per game and 2+ triples made, I'll go with him every single day of the week

Find me one post where someone compared him to T-Mac.

People on this board keep mentioning him because is a great player. He would fit in nicely with the Rockets.

I get more excited about Danny Granger than I do just about anyone that's on the trade market in the NBA. I've watched him play and followed his stats and he's what I believe is a great NBA player. Not an elite All Star like Lebron, but certainly in the top of the second tier players. Love him, and would certainly pay more to see him in a Rox uniform.

Not sure offering love for players is legal in the nba. How would the deal be confirmed anyway? Would they film the love giving as proof?

    Agree. for me its:

    CP3
    Melo
    Granger

I would love to see Granger as a Rocket, I would not include Patterson in a deal for him though, Melo or CP3 however, I would. Obviously we have a huge hole at center and that should be Morey's primary focus but If Granger is available and we match as a trading partner I say do it.

Scola will be in the deal for any granger deal.

While yao will not be in the mix as Pacers does not have enough big salaries to take yao in.

Some of you guys are really overvaluing Granger.. nice player, but adding him to this team still doesn't make us a legitimate contender. I wouldn't want to give up the farm to get him like I would for Carmelo.
