    Lowry/Twill/Ish
    Martin/Lee
    Granger/Delfino

that would be a great as our 1/2/3, but of course the issue is still inside..

Nope, another year at about 7.5 million. They can but Yao's contract gives them a ton of salary relief this season and almost 20 million next season. It depends how they view JHill, Bud and the 2012 NY pick along with all the salary relief. He might be their best player but he isn't having a great season and has 3 years at about 39 million left after this one...lot of salary to take on.

I understand that the financial help would be part of the deal, but you just cant expect them to base a trade of this caliber on financial relief alone.

The reason you saw teams shredding contracts last season and the one before was because of the free agency bonanza.

Even in a salary cap move like the one that New Orleans made 2 seasons ago they traded Tyson Chandler away and still were able to net Emeka Okafur in return.

Leave the drugs alone losing Battier for Granger thank you Jesus in heaven if Indiana would take Battier as part of that package.

My mistake, you are right on Posey's contract.

I think I'm okay with any reasonable trade for Granger not including Martin or Scola.

Granger’s regression is a cause for major concern, but at last year’s deadline, I really wanted to get him more than anybody else, if it’s merely a slump or change of role, then we should go after him. Indiana’s financial situation looks pretty good for the future so any trade for Granger would have to include James Posey as well because he is their only bad contract beyond this year.

I’d like this to grow beyond rumors and if it does: Morey get r’ done!

In this internet rumor driven modern world in which we reside, is there any indication of what the Pacers are seeking in X-change for Granger?

Very good point! The most vital need for the Rockets right now is a solid defensive center. The current offense is one of the best in the NBA and it is the defense, due to the absence of a shotblocker inside, that is mainly causing the Rockets to lose games.

No, Stop talking about Melo or Granger. Rockets need a valuable center, force in the middle. we have enough scorers with healthy Brooks, Martin and Scola. we don't need another one

They can put up 20 points per game each, as it happened at the end of last season or just something around that. we need balance at 3 and 5. we already have balanced players at 3 (Shane and Terrence) but center position we are terrible. Bigs are most valuable part of the game and nothing would ever change that despite all that stuff with a lot of young point guards

    Defense is 1-A;
    Closer is 1-B.

The needs are there, you take what comes first.

Adding granger does help us....anytime you can get an elite player you do it...not to mention actually getting him puts us in the all in mode tongi get a center with remaining assets.

Also makes a more desirable location

I would do it. But other posters are right we still would have a hole at center.

We could draft one this year, or see if we still have some pieces left to work out a side deal for someone limited but serviceable (or maybe add a D league guy when roster spots become available after the trade)

We would also become more attractive to other free agents (stars and middle tier big men) in future years.

It would be a move more future based than for this year.
