    Congrats kiddies!

I had fun at highschool, and at college. I'm still having fun as a grumpy old man...Life is cool. Stay healthy and make the most of your days.

How could you not have fun at highschool??? All that crap you think that matters....doesn't. Apathy is good.

don't worry, Texas A&M is just like high school. :D

kidding aside, missing high school happens to everyone that didn't hit any major embarrassing social-life-ending event. relish this summer with your friends. i spent it down in the dumps because of a relationship ending, and i missed what could have been the greatest summer ever.

but on the other hand, college is much more intense. realizing you'll miss high school once you leave - that should make you determined to get everything you possibly can out of college while you're there, so take that as a lesson learned and move on. this is why they make hs yearbooks, prom, and facebook...

    god, i miss college.

I was in the same boat as you 4 years ago... I didn't do ANYTHING in high school (never went to a football game either) and didn't really like my school. Luckily, I did make a good number of friends and had many great memories... so that's the part I missed the most (I say I'm lucky cause it seems like some of the replies on this thread are from bitter people that weren't liked in HS). Some of em have gone out of state for college.. and I always look forward to them coming back for the summer or the winter.

That being said, college is much more fun than high school.

This thread makes me think about the high school I went to and all the ridiculous stuff that's happened since I graduated:
    - Chinese kid makes a counterstrike map of the school (looks EXACTLY alike) and gets expelled
    - 2 ROTC guys murder a girl in their class and go eat IHOP afterwards
    - My former chem teacher allegedly performed in male adult wrestling videos.

Definitely. College will make you forget high school very fast....

Now leaving college is a different story.

The "fun" stuff in HS doesn't actually happen at/involve the HS! DUH.

Oy. My HS was boring compared to yours.

see, I wouldn't call what happened to me a "major embarrassing social-life-ending event, but here is how it went:

I started High School on the wrong foot. I had just came from overseas from an arabic-speaking country, and I had minimal English knowledge. in fact, the first "essay" thingy we had to write was about "racism", which I had no idea what that word referred to :), and think of the embarrassment of asking a teacher what "racism" means in a freshman class... wait, it gets worse. I was a full year younger than everyone in any of my classes. I was yet to hit puberty, and I was a 4 feet 10 inches mideastern kid who had no idea where "room S217" is . I didn't know what a locker room is, I didn't know that you had to go through the locker room to get to the gym. I didn't have a locker because i didn't know you could get one, and I had 12 books in my backpack the first week of school because I thought all of them would be used. due to my extremely small size and horrible English, I was the victim of various attacks. unfortunately, nobody ever told me what "AP" and "PreAP" and "honor" classes are, and I had no idea that anyone that cared had honors, and all the other careless thugs have regular classes simply because they don't wanna do work and they don't care about school (and no that's not a stereotype, it's actually a well proven fact).

needless to say, Freshman year was a disaster.

Sophomore year is when I started to get comfortable. I got hold of the language a little better, and I was in all preAP's and honors courses, which made all of the differnce in the word not because of the actual course, but because of the quality of classmates. I was still horrible look-wise. starting to get a little taller, and extremely thin (under 100 pounds)..

Junior year is when it all got better.. I started getting my act together and developed some social connections. I finally got to 5 feet 7 inches, but I was still sooo freakin thin. so still an easy target, but stronger in terms of social life.

that's when Senior year comes in. it has been an absolute BLAST! I picked up atleast 30 pounds with a combo of working out/mad eating.. I finally got facial hair, and I got everything in place.. social life blasted, developed mad friendships, and got somewhat popular (super popular for a guy with zero sports, and practically zero extracurriculars as a whole)... Then finally got my car, which also helped me in a major way because no car = no movement pretty much in Houston :) .. I was banking on my good academics to get me to college, and thankfully, I am good... I got accepted to the hellhole they call A&M (JK, I love A&M), I received a good amount of scholarship money, and I'm all good!..

Now I don't wanna bore you with B.S details, but I look back at those past 4 years and it amazes me how I got here.. I went through some $h!t times, serious $h!t times.. I had zero self-esteem, cried every night, and didn't have anyone to talk to..

    the lesson is:

even when you think there's no way out (which I felt on countless occasions through these 4 years), things will get better if you just hold on and fight..

    /inspirational crap :D

    I don't miss high school.

I miss college and I'd do it again and try to have more fun. But I wouldn't do it, if I had to trade the job I have now. I am content with how things turned out.

Just finished college. Incredibly better than high school. Besides the friends in HS, I don't miss it. After only half a week away from college, I miss all the experiences I had as well as the people.

I agree, I don't miss HS at all and was waiting so long for it to end...I just graduated college at UH and I already miss it...I'll miss all the friends I made in college and I don't really miss any of the one's I made in HS...maybe because most of the people in HS are a bunch of losers and idiots, not that you don't find any at universities just less of them

I also like that you don't have to wake up at like 630 in the morning to get ready to go to school and college also gives you more variety and free time

In hindsight, high school was rather interesting. There were these two teachers (they were married). I caught the wife cheating on her husband at the local Best Buy. No one believed me, yet they divorced two months later (turns out she WAS cheating).

It's true what's been said though. You'll find yourself missing your high school days. The friends, teachers... everything really.

You'll go on to better things, though.

College is MUCH better, unless you're going to a community one that is.

    Oh, and congrats!
