so you have dvi-d to hdmi cable?
is it the same monitor as mine?

why aren't you just using just a dvi cable?

I got a Navigon for around 99 bucks shipped about a year ago. Then I was able to get Free Lifetime Traffic updates through a deal I saw online. I really like the Navigon b/c it is small and I can take it with me when I ride a bike.

We've got $13K saved right now. Time to spend some on ourselves before we start spending on doctors, diapers, etc. ;)

I am using a dvi cable...but does that provide HD? I have a Samsung 24" 1080p w/tuner. I just thought it would be better to go into the monitor with an hdmi end if possible, no?

if you are not getting ANY PICTURE from your DVI cable, then something is wrong with your computer or monitor or cable

The tuner, you can hook up an antenna or cable.

if you have cable, it does descramble HD channels that are free like NBC, FOX, PBS etc.

All monitors with a DVI port accept DVI signals.

My dvi to dvi cable into the monitor works fine...I'm talking about hd videos on the internet, not through regular cable. Wouldn't a dvi to hdmi cable be better than the dvi/dvi cable?

Again, sorry for the thread hijack.

it should look the same. hdmi is basically dvi + copyright protection + sound.

what hd videos are you talking about? Try downloading a 1080p trailer from
    http://www.apple.com/trailers/#section=justhd

if it works then you're fine, if it doesn't, then you need to update your video drivers of your video card

That seems like a pretty sweet deal. Even if it blows, you're only out what $65? Money's money :)

Change your nickname, sir. You're insulting both the real Greek one and the current NBA one.
