Cutting back on free speech is a problem. But also using dramatic language about raids at dawn is purely for effect and the fact that people would fall for that and spread it, is also a problem. That is really what I was mocking.

Taking the word of right wing algorithms like this also isn't something that I'm prepared to do.

It's not "dramatic language". They literally raided this guy's home at 6 am over a retweet where the guy (correctly) called a dumbass German leftist minister a "fool".

There is no "falling for it". The minister personally requested that. It's all documented. These are intimidation tactics like in Soviet Russia. It's sick.

Imagine your house getting raided at 6 am over some shitpost you made here. Insane.

What makes it worse is that the x user whose home got raided has a daughter with Down syndrome who is now severely traumatized because of the raid.

Even if you can not understand the purpose of the language used, others can.

Saying "my home was raided for calling a government official a fool" is stating the facts. Using dramatic language like raided at dawn, is meant to add dram and scare people because of the scary image of early morning and sleeping innocents being stormed by government jackbooted thugs.

Again, I'm not in favor of the government invading a person's home for speaking or calling names of government officials. But I will absolutely mock the dramatic language intended to incite fear and added drama

The government of Germany raided the homes of these people for incidents related to their support for Palestinian and/or Hamas causes. Are these a problem as well?

The time it was raided isn't relevant other than for the purpose of sensationalizing the incident to drive fear and create drama.

Nobody is disputing the time it happened. But the time it happened isn't relevant and doesn't matter. What matters is the government using its power to target someone for saying unfavorable things about the government official. That is an abuse of power and definitely infringes of free speech.

The time it happened doesn't have an effect one way or the other on those relevant facts. By trying to turn it into propaganda, it lessens the seriousness of the claim in some people's estimation.

I would be fine if the time of the raid was mentioned somewhere far down in a detailed article. But if it is one of facts highlighted in a very few lines, it is not only irrelevant, it is comedically overdramatic.

    Feel free to disagree.

You are an idiot. There is absolutely no reason to terrorize people like that over a tweet, and it absolutely makes aan additional difference whether a police visit (which in itself is already ridiculous) happens at a civilized time or basically when people are still asleep - clearly adds to the trauma, and that is clearly intended - these are Stalinist intimidation tactics.

Not surprising that you as a socialist are defending that.

Not surprising that reading has failed for you.

I didn't defend the police raid. I said that based on everything I know about it, it is absolutely something that is wrong and an abuse of power.

The fact that the you may not understand the comedic over dramatization only makes it (and you) funnier.

Not dumb enough to have to rely on ad hominem.

Oh wait... I guess I am. Well played, detective.
