If you put moderate wear your computer and use it more than 5 hours a day, get the 3 year warranty. Best case would be the 2 year. The thing about their warranties is that their customer service is nice with them (replace parts with coke spilled on the keyboard...) and impossible without them. With Dell's power supply, they seem to have a knack for shorting out a month after a year.
I'm still debating whether I should go back and get the warranty from Best Buy. I take pretty good care of computers and usually only have a problem once Microsoft forces me to install some of their upgrades. My old computer couldn't handle much but this new one seems fine. The 3 year warranty is 140 and my computer only cost me 500. I don't see how it's worth it. I have a manufacture one year warranty so I will have at least a computer for a year. By the time I do need to get this checked up it will already be time for me to get a newer model. Anyways, I have one dead pixel. It does go away for a while after I rub it in with a t-shirt. You think Best Buy will replace the computer or should i just leave it alone. It doesn't bother me that much, but being a brand new computer, I really do wish it was in perfect condition to start off with. This computer is pretty sweet though. It has a built in microphone and I can command it to do stuff for me. I essentially don't even need a mouse. Technology comes a long way in such little time.
