No ****. To cause MORE problems down the road for $30 ****ing dollars. Most of us have been jumped, a lot of us have "jumped", it's what you do when you're a dumbass kid, and I was a dumbass kid. I never snitched though. Would not even think about it. These people know where you live and LOVE payback. It's not worth it whatsoever.

I only did what I had to do. If its a fair fight ( 1on 1 ) then I will only use my fist and maybe a round house kick to the jugular.
I don't agree with it one bit. While it is easy to say just report him to the cops while living in a rich suburb of Austin, or River Oaks or Memorial it isn't the true reality of things on the inner city streets of Houston or any other major city. While both River Oaks and the ghetto's of Houston might have properly paved streets, and brightly painted stop signs the way of life and the culture is vastly different. What would work in Memorial wouldn't work in 3rd Ward. If the OP reported the theft to the police, I'm sure the police would forget about what they were just told 5 minutes later. The police rarely care about minority on minority crime.
^^^I don't agree with that. It's people like the OP.....being victims....but not reporting it that causes the issues to continue to other folks.
Cops won't give your name once they do an investigation. You have 4 other people that were jumped that can corroborate with your claim to back you up. At worst they'll increase security around the area you were jumped at and they'll have it on their records the next time it happens. Chances are if they're in a gang they already have previous violations of criminal activity. I wouldn't be surprised if at least one of them was on parole. And given that assault and theft is a huge felony, it probably wouldn't be difficult for them to piece together a strong case to send them to prison. You can go ahead and get shot though by getting street revenge.
