People lose the focus sometimes. While Martin is a good scorer and a good teammate without stats, we seek a player that has the potential to make THIS TEAM BETTER TO BECOME A CONTENDER NOT someone who gets us to the playoffs and perhaps the 2nd round. Did he ever led the team to some playoff success? Hell the real gem is Tyreke and THEY WON'T GIVE HIM AWAY. Why not you should think yourself.

Low assist number actually means Martin is not a ballhog.

Yeah, seems like it. Like I said, I haven't really watched him much, so I didn't know that he plays off the ball more than not. If true, that would fit us pretty well. You've sold me.

His injuries are still quite a concern, however, I agree.

Why would the Rockets do that? Like some people are stating Martin has missed a bunch a games due to health issues. Rockets can do way better! Don't do it DM!!!

Kevin Martin is similar to players like Richard Hamilton and Reggie Miller. He's a bit more athletic than Hamilton. I don't think he needs to handle the ball much to be an effective scorer.

That said, why aren't there any videos of Kevin Martin passing?

martin is not a pg, why should we focus on his assist numbers? what is ab's rebound number?

it's safe to say every #1 offensive option on any team is a borderline allstar (or above that). martin is one of them.

if we are to trade away mcgrady, whom exactly do you want? (of course, if you're advocating that we retain him, then it's another story.)

Nobody says he's one BUT I say he does not make his team better at least not by a the margin that I would care.

He has had some pretty good shooters on his team, Artest, Nocioni, Beno Udrih, and Brad Miller at center. He's not a passer. I agree.

He's played 3 seasons over 60 games for the last 4 seasons, 80, 72, 61 and 51 . In his rookie season, he wasn't given any play time.

Why do you expect him to pass so much?

He's a Scorer and a good one. the responsibility to create a shooting opportunity is the PG's.

The SG shoot the ball. He's great at creating contact and drawing fouls.

everyone wanted a player that could create his own shot [check]

someone who could shoot the 3 [check]

someone who could play defense [so so] he does avg. 2 stls per game. top 20 in the NBA.

    I'm sold.

I really hope the Rockets don't trade Tmac. I feel like he is going to come back better than ever. I feel like this injury really motivated him and it would be a major mistake to trade him now. Unless, of course they have some information saying that he wont' re-sign here even when his contract is up, if that's the case then we need to try and get something for him. I really do have high hopes about his return this year though.

BECAUSE we are talking about a borderline star? If Martin just were a good player, maybe 4th option you would not want to give away a triple threat to get him. We are not fire selling, mind you.
Whom do I want? I want a big that can bang and shoot the long jumpers, is 6'10-6'11. Andersen in God mode with defense.

Why do I expect so much. I tell you because I want to make this team a contender not just a playoff team.
FYI 2 stls Per is his contribution going 5 games into the season. Career 1.0

there is only one threat for having TMAC: never expecting to pass the first round.

Why? He was a triple double threat playing on one knee being 60 percent.
