look at this list of players and notice that Kevin Martin is in the top ten.

    link

This are the stats for FT-A all season.

Play makers get to the line therefor K-mart IS a play maker.

He avg. 10 FT A per game! that's Top 2 in the NBA!

Martin is out as well and I would say the odds are McGrady is ready to play before Martin  If a player got hurt, Taylor would have to get some time and I don't see Nocioni as much of an upgrade. I just don't see this as a move to improve depth. Martin is just a flat out better player than McGrady at this stage of their careers barring an incredible comeback.

Are you taking about T-mac or K-mart? Because k-mart is looking to be as injury prone if not more than t-mac.

Also, k-mart makes about $13 million in his last year and we'll be locked in for 4 more years. That's a 40-some million dollar commitment versus the 20-million we have with T-mac.

I am surprised you like this deal. K-mart is shooting 42% in his last year of play...doesn't pass or play a team game, doesn't play D - in fact, his D is worse than t-mac's. He's everything you accuse t-mac of being....why do you like this deal?

The more I think about it, the more I am suspect this is a good deal for us. Unless Morey thinks Adelman can turn K-mart into a better team player, but thus far, his attitude sucks.

I'm going to trust DM on this one.

Although I feel we can cover his lack of defense, it'll piss me off if the ball starts moving around the court and consistently stops in Martin's hands. He has to understands that "sharing the ball" does not mean "pass to Martin".

(yes, same hope for Tracy when he gets back...uh, can I say "if" now?)

Excellent point. We will only win more games with him in the mix, I like him as part of the deal but Noicioni would scare me off. I'm sure Morey is thinking along those lines as well, then again you have to give a little to get a little.

I really don't see something like this going down though.

Nocioni fits very well in this type of system, he can hit the 3ball, he hustles, he moves without the ball, and he is a good teamate.

I think this deal would be great whether it is to keep either player or to move them on for something better.

When I said playmaker, i meant he doesn't create plays for his teammates. Most of the time when he has the ball, he is mostly looking for his own shot. If we traded for him, the only way he will continue to be the prime scorer he is, is if we become the new 09/09 sacramento kings. And just to show you how good Martin is, his team won the last 2 games he missed.

Nocioni is actually a better fit for this system than Martin but he is overpaid for what he does

    I think you're a genius. Especially since it's what I was thinking.

Toronto needs to solidify their "2" spot. Rather than risk Bosh leaving---he'll always have one foot out the door anyway (in his mind)---you can replace him with real value.

We certainly have an excess of PFs to help facilitate the rest.

Even if Toronto weren't involved, I'd be interested in this deal, but to be honest, how much more would Kevin Martin bring (at $11 mil per season) that Budinger won't grow into anyway? (Well, except for all the free throws.)

I haven't heard anything similar to this but I hope T-Mac goes to a good team, like cavs, celtics, lakers, or even magic, which he hates so much. When I read the title I thought T-Mac would go to the kings, which is the worst decision he can make, because kings are the worst team in the whole NBA.

T-Mac, if you're going to post, you need to come with some inside info, not this weak-sauce.

I also see Nocioni as a piece to trade. I wouldn't hurt to have Rahim's expiring to trade off.

IF this trade would happen I would try to trade Nocioni or Scola/Landry and Rahim to the Raptors for Chris Bosh.

Teams would love Nocioni if not for his age towards the end of his contract.

I would still love K-mart in Adelman's system.

If T-Mac does good this year he could easily be traded for someone like Mo Williams or something.

We're not paper thin, that's an exaggeration, we need just one more wing and that gives us 4 guys for the 2/3 spots, 2 starters and 2 back ups....and nocioni can't play the 2.

If we can do a 3-way trade, Nocioni for Camby or Kaman, it will be perfect.
