Again folks, not happening.

I mentioned All-Star break talk of a Perkins/Lamb/pick-Gortat/Tucker swap.

For Rockets fans concerned about moving Jeremy Lamb in Harden trade, OKC is throwing him in every trade offer. I feel for Lamp to be traded twice in one season. I wonder what makes them think that if they do think that. Just because they are shopping him around doesn't mean they don't think he can play. It means they think they can get something for him.
That is stupid. First of all you won't find any Thunder trade rumors. Even that one Gortat for Perkins is probably not even legit. Morey had Lamb as 5th best player before the draft.
The Thunder no longer need Perkins now that LA is pretty much out of the picture. Lamb is meh and any of the 1st rd picks they have aren't all that valuable anymore now that the Craptors are moving up into a higher tier of mediocrity. Bad move for the Suns, but an absolute steal for the Thunder.
It's hard to believe a swap like this that makes so much for both teams hasn't been discussed. Maybe it doesn't end up happening, but they have to have discussed it. As for Lamb being in trade discussions, it may have to do with how well Martin is doing more than Lamb's talent. Martin has done well for them and they'd probably want to re-sign him. When they do, Lamb won't have any potential spot in the rotation. So, pick up some value for him.
Great move for the Suns to get a highly rated prospect if it happened. They aren't going any where anytime soon, they should be trying to get as many prospects as possible.
They're better off tanking for McLemore/Zeller and getting long-term contracts off the books than trading for an extreme raw Lamb, taking on Perkins' terrible contract, and a mediocre 1st rd pick.
So why would the Suns do this? Lamb is ok and has potential, but that 1st round pick will be nothing special and Perkins' contract is just brutal for what he contributes (nearly nothing). I would think they could get more than Lamb and a terrible contract for Gortat.
Gortat is better than Perkins. So they actually get worse. As for his contract, they aren't going any where in that time. Which is 2 seasons after this season. The important thing is to get young players with potential. Either to hope they pan out or to hope that some other team really loves that player. Perkins will be a asset in season after next. Are they going any where next season? I doubt it, so for that one year his contract is not bad. It's not like they are going to sign the big FA until they get a young exciting franchise piece any ways.
Perkins wasn't worthless until they got to the Finals. He was actually quite valuable vs LA and OKC and I doubt OKC makes the Finals without him. If OKC trades him it only tells me they don't think they have to worry about LA and Memphis, and feel Ibaka can handle Duncan now.
Yeah, got to be tough- especially as a rookie. Hope this doesn't derail his self-esteem and ruin his career.
This. This. This. With Bynum out of the picture and the Lakers non-contenders, Perk's small, specific role isn't that important. OKC having a starting C that is more than a tree stump makes them much better and saves them from coach Bonehead's stupidity. Gortat/Ibaka/Collison/KD gives them a championship level C/PF rotation for the playoffs. Lamb has a lot of promise. He completely dominated D-league and did everything expected. "Win now" is the only reason to give him up. I bet they'd rather give up Perry Jones III instead.
Gortat wouldn't hold down the paint like Perkins would. If OKC even did this deal, and I doubt it. It would mean Ibaka having to take on a new role, and be an even better help defender.
Geez, just because they are offering him in a trade doesn't mean they think he can't play. There are a multitude of reasons for why a player may be traded.
OKC with a low post threat? No thank you!! If Phoenix does this, every other team in the league would pissed at them
It's tanking time for them. This season is a bust. What rookies do they even have to develop? That's how bad it is over there.
