http://www.azcentral.com/sports/suns/articles/20130219hunters-find-new-job-much-like-old-job.html?nclick_check=1 The Thunder would receive Gortat and P.J. Tucker from the Suns for Perkins, Jeremy Lamb and a first round pick. Thoughts? Personally I think it's great for both sides!
Thunder are in a win now mode. Gortat>>> Perkins. Tucker >> Lamb (right now) first rd pick of the Thunder is what, 25 pick? I like this for the Thunder. Puts them over the top as contenders in my book.
Gortat would wreck shop in OKC. This would be the kind of deal that puts them over the top for the West.
Gortat is super overrated around here. Thunder lose a lot of toughness and edge with this trade. Looks good on paper, stinks in real life.
That would make OKC crazy. Perkins has been sorry, rebounding's been weak and D is just ok. He really has been just a big body for them. Gortat would actually play D, rebound and bring a decent low post threat.
Good trade for both teams, although I think the Suns are getting a little too much value for Gortat. Looks to me like Presti's bidding with himself.
Nice to see PJ Tucker making some noise in the league. One of my favorite Horns under the Barnes era (when he was academically eligible).

The only thing of value I'd consider high would be Jeremy Lamb. Kendrick is still on that ridiculous contract that doesn't expire till 2015. Gortat would be worth ever penny of his 2 years $14,000,000 remaining on his contract will producing at a higher level than KP for a contending team. The Thunder pick would probably not be the pick they aquired from us thru the Harden trade but their own, which would be in the 25-30 range. I like this one for the Thunder if it goes thru.
looks very good for OKC, assuming it's not the Raptors pick. For the Suns... depends on how one sees Lamb. Overall, i think the Suns are more likely to look at younger vets (along the lines of DeRozan maybe). They do need to cash in on Gortat while he's still in his prime and under contract, but i don't think they are patient enough to go for guys like Lamb.
oh perkin's tough alright... he's playing what, 20 min a game and his offense makes azik looks like yao ming.
