Yeah, you are less likely to have your arms ripped off by a cow than a gorilla.

Supervise your children or EddieWasSnubbed will see to it that they are pummeled by gorillas.

    That'll teach ya!

But people in general are going to be much more upset when bad parenting like this leads to the death of an endangered gorilla than a cow, and understandably so.

Regardless, I feel bad for the Cincinnati Zoo in this instance as they were faced with a dire situation with a very limited amount of time to make a decision. A parent who isn't paying enough attention to see their child go under a rail, through some wires and over a moat wall to get into a gorilla pen should be held criminally liable IMO.

The most fault lies on the parents here for negligence. You can't blame the kid because the kid is only being a kid. The zoo did the only thing they could do. I heard the mother had like 6 kids with her and has a history with CPS. If so, she should never reproduce.

Parents fault for not paying attention - we used to hold people responsible for their actions, now we try to find ways to excuse it.

Couple corrections...I guess they didn't have to demolish it after all. They turned it into a state park.

And it wasn't 120 ft tall, but almost 600 feet. Important because of the effort it took to put oneself in danger of falling in.

Our military doesn't seem to think so. What makes you feel like a child is more important than an endangered species?

As the parent of a 4 year old boy, if I'm stupid enough to let him climb into a gorilla cage at a zoo, you might as well shoot me.

Also - seems like a horrible design flaw for there to be a way for a 4 year old to fall into a gorilla cage.

Also - if that was my son in there, I'd tell them to shoot the gorilla too.

    No we don't.

Also don't even try to compare the United States (or any Western nation) to China.... it isn't even close.

TBH I'd consider my old sickly dog to be more important than an endangered gorilla, and would put down the gorilla if it meant saving my dog's life.

So yes I would do the same for a child too.

I want to point out that the lady with her son back doesn't give two ****s for that gorilla - and neither would you.

Totally agree, but what about other parents there? I mean how many of us have stopped dangerous situations with other kids because they had un-attentive parents?

I certainly have, saved one from drowning when the lifeguards and parents were chatting away....pissed me off to no end - adults need to pat attention because kids can't.
