Please lock if there is already another thread posted - I searched for a while and couldn't find one.

In gorilla's death, critics blame mother, Cincinnati Zoo

I'm curious to see what y'all think because I think the situation was a no-brainer, and the Cincinnati Zoo did the right thing in shooting it.

If there was ANY way a 4 year old could figure out how to get where he eventually got, it says everything you need to know about how poorly the zoo was designed.

In my opinion, it is about 80% their fault and 20% the fault of the parents.

Option 1 and 2 on the poll should be together.

1st and 2nd option should be together. Both are how I feel.

LOL @ "child should be punished"

Fify. Zoo had too do what it had to do to protect the child. Pathetic supervision by parents. They should be held liable for damages.

It's mainly stupid parents, but also zoo design's fault

A wandering 3 year old shouldn't be able to fall into a gorilla enclosure no matter how hard he tries.

Neglected children aren't a ****ing endangered species.

Pretty easy to see which on has more value on this planet.

What was the intent of this "premium" post?

Not only was it unfunny, it was at the very least subtly racist and at the most in poor taste, as it doesn't even relate to this topic.

So, do you actually support letting the child die in this case, or are you making a separate political point?

Preface: Terrible situation. A tragedy. That animal didn't deserve to die, it didn't even deserve its conditions to begin with.

However - I'm confident in saying that if the child died in this situation, there would be less "righteous indignation" all over the place.

Once an animal is given a name (Cecil, Harambe), there is no limit to social media fury. Time to duck and run.

Well, I guess it comes down to worldview. I think humans are superior to animals, so for me, the right answer is to make sure the child is safe, regardless of parental idiocy. But absolutely, there are no winners here. That was a majestic animal.
