'Wait till Oscar night' ...could former Vice President Al Gore be waiting to make a dramatic entrance into the 2008 presidential race, especially if he wins an Oscar next month? His former campaign manager, Donna Brazile, strongly implied that possibility while speaking at Moravian College in Bethlehem Tuesday night. http://www.mcall.com/news/local/all-4brazilejan31,0,2339833.story?coll=all-newslocal-hed
That would be interesting and un-Al Gore like (because it would be interesting). Of course, it would be better if the idea wasn't leaked. Maybe they are just tyring to get a feel for the reaction?
I don't think that's coming from Gore himself... there's a lot of folks speculating what a Gore campaign might look like and this is one of the scenarios, though a stupid one. I don't think he'll run, but I hope he does. If he does, he's too smart to tie his announcement directly to the Oscars and besides, it would be too soon for him... he's the one guy that can wait until November or December to declare. Why would he want to put himself through 10 months of crap if he doesn't have to do so?
