The problem is that we don't really want them to make the playoffs. That's counter productive. Be patient. 2 more years of tank.
There goes our tall ball KPJ - 6’4 Green - 6’3 Gordon - 6’3 Wood - 6’9 Theis - 6’7 Stone - 5’10? Silas 6’0? Bring back 6’5 Maurey, 6’10 McHale, 7’1 Qi, 6’9 Brewer, make the Rockets tall again, make the Rockets ball again.
If the ultimate goal is the win a championship and not be a mediocre team again. It's a fact that we need to tank. I'll watch every game even if we lose but as a fan you gotta see the bigger picture. A couple more high draft picks and we can build a dynasty.
They've already benched their 2nd best player for the season in the name of tanking. How much more tanking do you want? Should they go ahead and bench Green? Besides, if this team makes the playoffs, there is no reason to continue to tank, anyway. We already accomplished what tanking provides.
Lol making the playoffs is not the goal. Championships are the only goal. Lebron carried Cleveland to playoffs for years then realized he couldn't win and bounced on his team. Is that what you want our young stars to do? I use Lebron as an example cuz he made the playoffs way to young. Couldn't build up a core around him. And let's be real John Wall is not our second best player. If we wanted to tank we should play him.
it is the preseason so you can experiment but it's dumb. You need Mr. fun taking his shots where he doesn't take away from others and vice versa. Playing 29 minutes from the bench Gordon can launch away at will.
Making the playoffs with a bunch of underpaid 19 year olds is exactly what you want. It just means that we already have our core. What would that extra pick provide? I'm not predicting that to happen, but to pretend like that scenario is a bad thing is insane. The losses will come. We will get a decent pick next year. But to purposely lose in order to get a top 5 pick that may turn out to be nothing is counterproductive. Aside from the continued benching of Wall, the tank should be over. Let these guys go out there and try to win every game.
Marginally better. Career: Starter: FG%: 43.1% 3PT%: 37.5% FT%: 81.3% TS%: 56% Reserve: FG%: 40.3% 3PT%: 35.1% FT%: 81% TS%: 55.2% Starter: 17.3ppg, 2.5 rpg, 3.1 apg Reserve: 14.5 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 2 apg His value as a starter, especially with this young group, is that he's still considered a perimeter threat which could help with spacing.
I don’t care. He shouldn’t even be on this roster. He doesn’t want to be on this team and he isn’t in their long term plans. Just trade him for a second rounder.
I know you won’t care but if a group of 19 year old kids make the playoffs the rebounding is over, mission complete. Next year the same group of 20 year old dose a little better and so on…. Tanking doesn’t work all the time because some players bust and bad habits / culture happens to losing teams. No thank you to the process.
