I think that Parsons is a great player, but I had to go with Hayward (maybe because of his game winner against Cleveland).
We would be saying the same thing about Parson's clutch shot against Portland, if Lilliard didn't one up him.
huh? Hayward created his shot off of an impressive dribble drive step back fade in which he created separation and drained it at the buzzer. Parsons had a ball fall into his lap and simply had to put the ball in on a reverse... Not the same IMO.
gordon hayward is max worthy because of his dribble separation, elite jumper, and elite ft shooting parsons is not those things
I'd rather have Parsons in the right role. I guess in a vacuum Hayward is better suited as a go to guy, but I don't think he is good enough to be that type of guy for a good team.
Sorry, but even with Parsons going to the Mavs and acting like a girl ever since, I would still take him over Hayward. Hayward is an Indy boy and I loved him at Butler, but he doesn't impress me as an NBA player. The vast majority of the time I watch him play he is TERRIBLE. The shot against the Cavs was nice and he has better handles than Parsons, but his efficiency is atrocious and he makes a lot of very bad decisions on both ends of the floor (at least when I watch). Hayward wows people with occasional great shots and athletic plays, but he doesn't put it together on a consistent basis. Do most people here still consider him a great shooter? He ain't.
after this full season I think hayward is going to be better than parsons. Before this summer I thought CP was better but Hayward has improved a lot and will have his best season to date imo. he's off to a pretty good start.
Yeah Hayward can handle the ball better than Parsons, he's just an excellent player. Young, emerging star in the NBA. Should be getting more respect.
Last year and the beginning of this year I'd have said Parsons. Now, not so sure, Hayward certainly is coming out better this year. We'll see.
hmm I didn't realize Hayward was off to such a hot start. Still don't think he's a #1 option but good for him.
