If I'm Gordon I would be looking to take that long term deal, you never know how it's going to work out. Look at Bonzi, he passed up 30+ million and now is looking for a job. I think Walt Williams did the same thing and ended up signing for the minimum. Take the money, you can feed your family the same with 60 mil as 70 million, right. I thought a wise man once said something similar. Anyways, you get hurt and your unproductive next season and your playing for a low contract for another season.
