They made the right trade. They can sign Dragic if they want him because he is unrestricted and they can keep Gordon if they want to because he is restricted. Throw in that they will get a top 5 and a top 10 pick in this draft as a result of the trade and they did a fine job of setting their team up for a possible successful rebuild.

I don't see how anyone can say no to Morey's package.

It was good for the them. High picks, young players, and expiring contracts.

The NBA are in a better position to sell the Hornets and it gives them leverage in the new deal they are finalising with New Orleans.

Gasol got outplayed by Scola last night and couldn't dominate when Bynum got hurt for the 2nd game against the rockets which is why they lost both of them.

Yeah, and Nene has been injured for most of the season. Another injury prone player making max money.

Why is everyone assuming that if the Gasol trade went through the rockets would have signed Nene? What if he did not sign here? I know he waited to see if the trade was going through before signing a deal, but that is nowhere a guarantee that he was going to sign here. It seems like the success of the Gasol trade would depend on signing some one else. The trade itself was bogus if you consider it without the salary cap implications and no guarantee that Nene would sign here. The Rockets were getting fleeced. Pau Gasol is not Dwight Howard.

While I do see some good things Morey has done, I completely disagreed with trading for Gasol if it meant giving up this much to get him. Look at what would have happened to the team! (And Nene wasn't for sure coming here if that trigger was pulled) In fact, I said at the time I wouldn't trade Scola straight up for Gasol and I meant it. Look at what Scola did to Pau late in the 4th when every possession mattered. Scola took it to him, scored on him almost every time while all Pau could do was get outmaneuvered and scored on by a shorter more DETERMINED man. Pau WHINED to the officials about what Scola was doing to him over and over again like he has done his entire career. Scola has more heart, determination, and is a better overall player than Gasol even being 3" shorter.

And the GM of the Year award goes to ..... David Stern!

Lol @ poster who said battling for the 8th seed. Why battle for 8th seed with guys like scola, martin, and odom? Anyway u look at it, the rockets would've gotten screwed cause cp3 would've been with kobe and bynum. Not to mention, la would've been in position to get howard also.
