Not that great of a comparison for a pg. He's not making any of our players better which is what a pg is supposed to do. As of now, Dragic has the worst +/- on the team at -33. He has not gotten a positive +/- total yet. I'm not saying its all his fault, I'm just saying he's definitely contributing to our horrible 2nd team's playing.
I don't care for Dragic's game. Though this comparison is absurd, they are indeed both score-first point guards. That's where the comparison stops though. I actually like Flynn a lot more than Dragic. Love his pass-first mentality and I think he'll end up the better defender. Surely hope Dragic is on the block before Flynn ever is.
I remember watching a game on TNT and I think Doug Collins said that PHX encourages him to be more like Steve Nash, make the riskier passes, be more aggressive and assertive, and make the mistakes so you learn from them. He just needs to play under control.
anyone remembers last year someone made a thread comparing patterson to duncan just because he hit a bank shot. gawd, people these days
I agree with OP in that I don't think dragic is the answer. Besides hill and twont, this dragic guy is my 3rd least favorite rocket. Maybe he is still hurting but his IQ seems low and I'm disappointed. He played better last year but that doesnt change how bad he has looked so far. Instead of westbrook he reminds me of 'the professor' from and one..and in a bad way Maybe he will get better but I am concerned about this dragic guy. From what I have seen so far this year I prefer flynn. maybe a little too early to tell but generally speaking I agree OP.
Hes perfect off the bench. He pushes the tempo and attacks the basket. Id rather him do that then just shoot jumpers all game. Simple as that.
I thought this exact thought before.. It seems like I'm always yelling at Dragic through the tv for passing up an easy assist to take it in himself.. He's a better scorer than passer.. Not really the ideal backup point, I really wish we still had Ish Smith..
In the 3 games without Lowry last year at the end of the season, Dragic averaged 13.3 points, 10.3 rebounds and 8.3 assists (to just 1.6 turnovers). Granted that was in 45 minutes per game though. He's struggling with his shot so far this year, but I don't really see him as a selfish player... and the Westbrook comparison is not even in the same ballpark, in my opinion.
