Obama's economic advisers are highly-regarded U. Chicago economist Austin Goolsbee and Harvard economist Jeff Liebmann. McCain's economic goon is turtle-headed nincompoop and investment bank deregulator (lol!) Phil Gramm and "Dow 36,000" author Kevin Hassett. Can you say scared sh-tless? If McCain is elected you should just hide your money in your mattress.
You can say he is inexperienced, that is a valid argument, but you can not say he is ignorant, he is clearly aware of the issues and has positions clearly defined on them. And, he is building a team around him to help fill in his weaknesses, which to me is a strong leader. McCain had a chance to do that too, and he chose an unknown from an obscure position with a massively extremist viewpoint. At the end of the day, neither McCain nor Obama has ever lead anything, but to me, it is about the ability to build a leadership team.....Obama by a landslide. DD
Just thought I would help you out some more....... Senator Obama’s economic advisors. Jim Johnson, who is currently Barack Obama’s economic advisor (and leader on VP pick), was not only CEO and Vice Chairman of Fannie Mae, he was also a managing director at Lehman Brothers. Another Obama economic advisor, Franklin Raines, was CEO of Fannie Mae 1999 to 2004, has ties to Country Wide, and has been investigated for accounting practices. Mr. Raines’s 2003 compensation for Fannie Mae was over $20 million. Scared? You might be right there.........but with which candidate.....
Now, I don't think Obama is ignorant, nor do I believe Palin is and by you saying that shows me more about your character then her qualifications. Palin brings something to the table that I believe is needed, someone to shake up Washington (outsider) and has knowledge on the energy side of things, as well as the economy. Building a team is much deeper than just the VP and McCain has stated many times he would put the highest qualified around him, Republican and Democrat - Obama has never mentioned that. That's building a leadership TEAM. All Obama has done is select Biden, which feels some of his weaknesses especially in regards to foreign policy..but that is a stretch to say he has put together a great leadership team.
shye's got more executive experience than Faux-bama, and a better grasp of the rationale for bailing out AIG than biden, so if she's not qualified, then that leaves only one man who is:
His name is Austan Goolsbee and I can't count the number of times he has been humiliated on CNBC -- totally ripped apart and shredded. I respect Chicago's economics department -- if they were sticking to their Milton Friedman roots. Goolsbee does not. He has totally abandoned any and all economic principles in favor of political arguments. His favorite answer to why the economy needs higher taxes is that "we had it pretty good during the 90's". WHAT? What type of economic analysis is that? Just pathetic. His reputation has been destroyed by this election cycle. If he stuck to his knitting and analyzed things from an economist's perspective, he'd be singing a much different tune. Instead, he's just out for a cabinet position if Obama is elected and he's sacrificing all economic theory/principles along the way.
And obviously you are not qualified to even post on the BBS......... Man, I get tired of personal attacks, you really are getting a true sense of people's character.
Johnson was at Lehman Brothers from 1985-1990. He was at Fannie Mae from 1991-1998. What you're trying to do is the equivalent of blaming Charlie Chaplin for Heaven's Gate. Yep, Raines has some issues. He is not however, a member of the campaign staff. He also negotiated the last balanced budget in this country's history.
Oh noes, not my character !! Definition of ignorant uneducated in general; lacking knowledge or sophistication; "an ignorant man"; "nescient of contemporary literature"; "an unlearned group ... uneducated in the fundamentals of a given art or branch of learning; lacking knowledge of a specific field; "she is ignorant of quantum mechanics"; "he is musically illiterate" unaware because of a lack of relevant information or knowledge; "he was completely ignorant of the circumstances"; "an unknowledgeable assistant"; "his rudeness was unwitting" wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn ----------------------------------------------------------------------- If that doesn't define Sarah Palin then I don't know what does.....it was clear in her first interview that she is ignorant about the Bush Doctrine, for one thing. Sarah Palin is not qualified to be the VP. You may not like the term, and that is ok, but it is appropriate.....hey, ignorance is bliss though...right Rocketball? DD
And what a surprise - the right wing moronosphere is peddling more urban legends that our boy Rocketball is swallowing hook, line, and sinker. His head economic advisers are Goolsbee and Liebmann. Raines and Johnson are not his economic advisers I can find this listed nowhere other than random FREEPER blogs. From the best I can gather Johnson was his VP selection guy. He apparently solicited Raines advice on Housing policy . NOT THE SAME THING AS BEING ECONOMIC ADVISER
Well, she is qualified to get the wingers out to rallies... she just can't keep them there for McCain...
