Come on now. Not all Cowboys fans are dicks. I am unfortunately a Cowboy fan and I've been taking crap from all my friends for the last couple of hours. Texans won cause they are a better team, or Texans won cause Cowboys didnt have a decent game plan, blah blah blah?!?!?! Who the hell cares about any of that? The point is the Texans won and the Cowboys lost. Congratulations to the Texans and their fans. I hate you guys, but I'm sure no one cares about that. I will now just have to settle for the Boys going 15-1.
That was the most fun I have had at a pro football game since ... oh wait...that was the most fun I have EVER had at a football game. No Oilers moment, not knocking out Jim Kelly (so Frank Reich could kick our ass a week later), not beating the Steelers twice in 93, nada.......this was better. I know we wont make the playoffs but this was a great game. And Carter SUCKS.
I am a Cowboy fan 1st, but I was an Oiler fan too, and I'll be a Texan fan. The Texans clearly have the better schemes, played harder and deserved to win. It is also obvious Carter is no David Carr or Micheal Vick. The rope Carr through to Lewis and overall presence for his first ever professional game was impressive. Carr had some misreads, but his ball was accurate and fast and he looked comfortable in the pocket. Carter was missing guys by 5 yards. Embarassing for a NFL Qb. Dallas secondary made too many mistakes, they straiten a couple of little things out they could have one of the best defenses in the NFC. The passing game has a long, long, way to go however.
That...now that...was beautiful. Cowboys simply got outplayed. I'm surprised they lost (though happy as hell) but not really too shocked. I figured they'd be better this year, but wasn't really sold on the idea they were a playoff team. Guess they still could be. Don't really care though....cause they still lost tonight.
One thing I noticed about Carr that annoyed me at first, but that I soon realized was probably a good thing was the way he simply refused to take stupid chances (for the most part). When he would get in the pocket, and all his receivers seemed covered, he would move up and get a bit of yardage himself, or just take the sack for a few yards loss. But I don't think he ever just dumped the ball off to a covered receiver just so he wouldn't get hit for a loss. He didn't play spectacularly, but he played smart, and he didn't lose the game for us. And, last night at least, that was exactly what we needed from him because the defense was so great.
Just amazing...I'm walking on air this morning!!! The only game I ever went to that compared to the intensity was the 1988 Monday Night game against Washington the year after they won the Super Bowl...the Oilers kicked the crap out of the Redskins... but the intensity in that stadium last night was just amazing...soooo much fun!!!! Can't wait for next week against the Chargers!! Go Texans!!!
