You're correct. I forgot, just this morning I heard Novell is working on an enterprise platform built on Wave. Incredible considering how it's still in the early stages.
Google published the wave protocol in its entirety several months ago when they first announced Wave, and this was their intention. One of Wave's killer features is supposed to be the fact that because it is an open protocol, enterprises can have their own internal proprietary wave systems for collaboration, and they can still easily communicate with the outside world/other enterprises using the wave protocol without having to use any special plugins/adapters. It really is the next evolution of email. Having used it, personally I wish we had a wave system at work instead of Exchange email and freaking SharePoint. Change control/review boards on waves would be SOOOOO much more efficient and effective, for example.
if anyone has an invite i would glady appreciate it. Been waiting to get one for a while now. I can trade a good voice invite for a wave one.
Added you on wave...my account doesn't have anyone on it...don't know what to do with all the features.
I signed up to get an account but haven't heard from Google yet. If anyone has an invite they wouldn't mind sending, I'd love to set up an account. I promise to distribute all my own invites (when I receive them) to CF.net folk who post in this thread. matthewa dot turner @ gmail dot com
If anyone has any extra invites, I would really appreciate it! I'll be sure to return the favor when I get them. huan dot yian @ gmail dot com
Added; just got a wave invite recently. By the way, to find public waves do a search for "search term" withublic. I found one public Rockets wave with a few people in it, "Houston Rockets Fans - Run and Gun Season". I didn't start it, though it was someone from CF, but I did add a widget and a poll to it while messing around with Wave. So if anyone just got wave try a search for Houston Rockets withublic
I can't seem to locate this. Just got my wave account and I'm trying to learn...somewhat unsuccessfully.
