It only buys you some convinience (i.e. almost replace your wallet) at the cost of some security. Pros: - You can link up all your rewards cards to your phone and not have a wallet full of em. - No physical credit cards - Hassle free card renewals - Cash becomes even less necessary - Show personal spending broken into categories, better grasp on where your money goes - Auto choosing of which credit card to use at a specific store to maximize reward points/miles. - Much easier online purchases - One less item in your pockets Cons: - Battery dies, you're screwed - Digital theft - More inclination to use CC's for everything, lead to higher debt for irresponsible people One thing would solve all our security issues.....built in fingerprint scanner app. So in the example of the guy buying the coke, you would hold up the back of the phone against the scanner while having your index finger on the screen to scan your print to ensure it is YOU.
Forgive me. I haven't been to a mall in years and I didn't realize that such vending machines already take debit/credit cards.
I guess I'm old school (although I'm not old, at all), but I still like holding cash and avoid plastic as much as humanly possible. I like the paper feeling of it and I don't leave any trails of my purchasing habits.
What's wrong with knowing your purchasing habits? I would think its a good thing to know where you are spending your money.
1. Not screwed. Just don't buy anything. What's the likelihood someone is out and their battery dies and they just HAVE to buy something before they can charge it back up. You can carry an emergency $20 with your drivers license if it that big a deal. 2. I assume there will be security around it. No different than all ways people can steal credit card data now. 3. People who use CCs already carry a bunch of them. People who use cash could just use debit cards instead that won't let them overdraft.

Wallets actually have become a huge medical problem leading to severe back pain in most men. Believe it or not. It's true. There will be a huge medical benefit if wallets are removed from the back pocket.

Adding fingerprint technology means the thief steals not only my phone but my finger as well? I don't carry a wallet. I put all my cards in an Oakley lens bag (perfect fit) and I carry a wad of cash. Wallets are too clunky for my tastes and, when I did use them, I did kind of feel like George on "Seinfeld"...putting a bunch of junk I really didn't need to carry aound in them. I like my current set-up better.
is this for nexus s 4g only? so my nexus s from t-mobile is SOL? i have a phone pouch with card slots, it's very convenient, but if i lose 1 thing, i lose it all...
