Google Home vs Amazon Echo vs third party with Google/Echo assistant

    I'm glad you managed to make it useful. For my shopping purposes, I probably under-appreciated what value Alexa provided. Anyone in the house could easily add to the list. It would block duplicate entries. And it would categorize many items for parts of the grocery store.

    Google wants each user to have their own Google account, train their voice to the account, and be added to my family before using the list. Keep doesn't curate the list at all. It will take duplicates and just show them in the order they were added. And if someone else does the shopping I have to figure out how to send them the list. It is barely better than pen and paper, and in some aspects worse.

    You won't be owning this lib. I hate that crap and can't believe the level at which people have invited corporations into their homes and personal lives. I even hate having a couple of credit cards.

    I also use google Keep and I have found it quite useful.

    I have 5 or 6 google speakers around my house. I use them daily to control the lights, music, tv etc. Also Routines (automation) are great.
