They already collect data from searches, they just don't cross that data with gmail/youtube/etc. So if all you are worried about is search, just sign out before you search. I've never understood all the fuss about this kind of thing. Don't put information on the internet that you don't want others to know.
Uhh. So? Now instead of all the data being stored for each use separately, they'll all be stored together. Who cares? In fact, I think it'll be more useful. This doesn't make your data any more or less private.
Yeah exactly, they're sharing it across other Google owned services. If you're worried about this, I hope you don't have a Facebook.
Google should at least lower the annual user fee for using their services due to this new invasion of privacy.
oh no! how else will we carry on with our lives with a computer storing all of my favorite youtube videos and my google searches!!! i dont think it's a big deal.
You should only do "questionable" searches with a dedicated browser for that purpose. So if Firefox is your main browser, do those kinds of searches in IE or chrome.

the people all up in arms on this are probably the same ones that can't wait to "check in" at a restaurant on facebook. oh no, people will know what i'm doing. let me just post on facebook first, then it's ok.
Damn, I miss 2005 lol. I don't use Yahoo anymore for anything except for Sports. I like their NBA coverage, and use their fantasy basketball (I sign in with Google, heh) though.
