Not that I agree on whatever the Chinese government does, but the Chinese government sucks it up? Seriously? I think the reverse is the truth and google, which in this case looked like a sour loser, will be told "don't let the door hit your heels".

Democracy doesn't mean you have to be idiotic or a bigot.

The latest scoop says that the Commies inserted spies into Google China. The spies downloaded almost all the source code in Google. That's why Google had to deny its China-based engineers from accessing its source code in the first day.

I keep seeing this expression now. It should be (just because it's more colorful): "Don't let the door hit ya' where the good Lord split ya'."

Woo, cloaks and daggers. Sounds like a bad spy novel. Tom Clancy watch out.

Many thanks to ya', for teaching me a new phrase. You're the guy who was genuinely surprised when a white woman complimented your daughter? How nice.

I think this is very likely. By doing this, the government can monitor people's gmail accounts.

I think the Chinese can monitor ALL gmail accounts now. So beware of what you type if you are using gmail. ;)

You might want to practice your reading comprehension a little more before you post again. Thanks.

Well, I'm gonna make this really simple so even you and those could understand. The typical process of criticism goes something like this:

    1. Prove a fault/mistake
    2. Criticize

You kinda missed step one. Oops. The bottom line is, even you could make all the allegations you want, but sooner or later you'll have to own up to it.

And quite frankly, one who believes an unsubstantiated allegation is a moron. One who makes an unsubstantiated allegation is a liar. By my count that would make you a moron and a liar.

As far as monitoring gmails, the Chinese government always COULD have done that. Nothing changed recently. Know who else is monitoring gmail? Google. They've had the 38 year cookie for years. They've also been parsing, copying and otherwise disseminate e-mails to see to sell to ad companies, which is why I don't use it.

Quite frankly I'm not running afoul of any Chinese laws (and even if I am, I'm not in their jurisdiction) so they don't bother me. Google on the other hand...

So what's going to be google's new approach now that they decided they still want to stay? It does seems to me that Google is chickening out over the potentially huge loss, not just from China, but also other partnerships as mentioned in this article.

Whatever that approach is, blasting the Chinese government is actually a pretty bad first move. If google wants to get into the cell phone market(which is HUGE, HUGE, HUGE in China), then looking like the big bad American company is probably not the way to go. Furthermore, the two cell phone providers in China are both state-run companies.

Weird article. Before, I thought it was all just google's plan to leave China. But if they want to stay, all that ruckus is not the way to go. I mean, doing business in China has its problems, but it has tons of benefits too that foreign companies love: corrupt officials, weak corporate laws, cheap technical labor, etc. Generally, it works to the advantage of big foreign companies with tons of money. As long as they keep their mouth shut and follow government restrictions.

I'd had enough of your garbage and now your intelligence level reflected by your posts is so under water that I don't even care about your writing anymore, women basketball fan.

    Peace.

I'd say China has had the most capitalistic economy for awhile. And the Chinese government is the single most successful business on earth.

You guys should actually read the statement before you misinterpret it - it looks like they still intend to alter their China policy, as initially planned: "but . . . we will be making some changes there"
