Yes. Stuff like this happens all the time. It's 2020 but large corporations are still complex entities made up of individuals. Lower level and midlevel managers still do a lot without constantly informing corporate headquarters. With this case yes it could be fake also. At the moment all we know is that Goodyear has a policy that prohibits political paraphernalia at work. They haven't confirmed or denied the slide.
Stuff like this does not happen all time, especially with big corporations, all training is filtered down from corporate HR so stuff like this does happen. They don't let low level and midlevel do much without signing off because of liability. And yes Goodyear has denied the slide. https://www.snopes.com/tachyon/2020/08/goodyear-fb-post.jpg
Probably getting Ecsta PS31s pretty soon -- best all around performance tire for the price right now.
It's the "Karen culture" that the admin is promoting. No dignity or discernment. The name of the game is to throw f-bombs in all directions and hoping that something sticks. At least cancel culture has a human rights substance underneath even if it is a prone to mob/group think.
They say "Goodyear Corporate" didn't create the slide that doesn't mean it wasn't created by someone else at Goodyear. Their statement doesn't say that it was a forgery. Yes training is filtered down but not all people follow training or misinterpret what is allowed under company policy. It seems to me like at least once a week we hear about a corporation having to deny what some low level or franchisee did and say that they acted without the knowledge of corporate. Consider if every single employee acted exactly as corporate HQ wanted very few people get fired.
Without following the story very closely, my guess is the slide was produced by an employee club. Like my company, they probably have a few affinity groups, for gay professionals, black professionals, female professionals, etc. I can see a scenario in which someone in operations did a presentation on diversity and tolerance for his club. He doesn't know about the HR or the PR considerations, and he doesn't ask. Someone else, annoyed affinity groups is even a thing, sits for the talk and takes a picture of the slide.
The audio of the training has been leaked. https://www.wibw.com/2020/08/19/new-audio-from-the-goodyear-training-on-their-zero-tolerance-policy/
I do not like it just as there are many things he says or Tweets that I do not like yet he has still been the best President of this young century by a long shot. I wish he would stay off Twitter and keep his mouth shut at times but his actions outweigh anything he Tweets or that comes out of his mouth. Bush was barely competent while Obama was utterly incompetent while running quite possibly the most corrupt administration ever. You ignore what Trump says and Tweets and just focus on his actions and he has done a hell of a job all the while dealing with the corruption of the previous administration and the fake Russian collusion hoax they fabricated out of thin air.
Interesting. So it definitely did happen. The question is now was it just one HR group at a plant who came up with that crazy policy or was it a company wide policy? I have reached out to people who I used to work with when I was at that crappy company to see if they received the same training. I worked at a different facility than where this took place.
See, this data says Trump is the least corrupt administration. Out of 89 indictments, only 24 have been convicted. That is just 27%. Look at Bush, 100% of his indictments resulted in convictions. And you can't count Obama since 0/0 is undefined. And Carter doesn't count since he's from Georgia. Pretend indictments are like catching covid-19. And convictions are like deaths. Don't worry about the total number dead or cases. Just look at the % of convictions (or mortality if you continue the Covid parallel).
How about a link? I might add that Obama's "zeros" are hilarious when you consider most of the corruption occurred directly in the DOJ. Funny they never found a reason to investigate themselves I guess?? Add to that the corrupt DOJ never truly pushed any other wrongdoing like the IRS scandal it is easy to have "zero" indictments and convictions. Investigations into the misdeeds of the Obama DOJ are ongoing as I type this. There has already been one indictment just in the last week with likely many more to come.
Ah so you're saying that the current Trump adminstration is very open to self-criticism and investigations of themselves. Very neat. Very cool. In your own words elaborate on the IRS scandal.
no more Goodyears on police cars? https://thefederalist.com/2020/08/2...oodyears-anti-cop-policy-its-just-disgusting/
We are talking about a corporate wide training not individual employee actions. A training of this magnitude in this environment would have no room to make a random flier and the people who did the training would be trained by corporate. I think you really have a misconception of how trainings are done on a corporate level, the fact that you think a random employee could just interpret things like they want shows that. And the whole issue is if this is goodyears corporate policy which they have said is not.
I can promise you Goodyear is a terribly run company. I have reached out to some people who I still know with the company to find out if that training was taught at the site where I once worked
