It would do wonders if you would acknowledge that calling someone a terrorist-loving america-hatin' libpig is out of line too.

    Jerk.

Why are you guys so hell-bent on relativizing a simple insult?

I didn't say Batman Jones loves terrorists or anything like that. I don't know if anyone else even said that.

The difference with regards to all the things you mention is that at least, those other allegations refer to the political conflict.

Calling someone an ******* is just a primitive insult that has nothing to do with the political conflict that is being discussed.

I don't even know what libpig means so I don't think I called anyone that.

Coming back to the topic of this thread, I do hope that Bigtexxx will continue posting because he is an intelligent poster who makes me laugh, especially when he so easily reveals all the pent-up anger and aggression in posters like Batman Jones.

So if Batman gets angry from being insulted, it makes you laugh. If he expresses his anger, it is unacceptable. Does not compute.

I really don't think this thread is about you.

    Duh.

But thanks for acknowledging that you are talking about things you obviously have not been following - it's incredibly helpful with respect to understanding why you sound so ignorant.

I said flatly that calling anyone a name was wrong.

I then listed the graver insults as opposed to the other one. I'm not saying you called anybody anything. But I guess it was a comment on thick skinned vs. Thin skinned. Many of us around here suffer far worse attacks than being called an ******* and we haven't cried about it to the admins or anything else. It is possible that after having those kinds of insults hurled at a person for long enough they might not think calling someone a name like '*******' was so bad. Not everyone has the same threshhold for being called names I guess.

I think it is good that batman has said if the admins have a problem with him calling people that name he would stop. There isn't that much more that needs to be said.

    It certainly does compute.

Batman gets angry because he cannot accept that someone else has a different political viewpoint from his. He is extremely intolerant. Then he goes and crosses a line.

I didn't see where Batman Jones was insulted in a way that would justify his excessive foul language.

Everyone else could make their argument without resorting to such primitive language.

    One person completely lost it.

That person was - as so often - Batman Jones.

He promised that a hundred times before, and he keeps doing it. It's ridiculous.

Furthermore, it is obvious that it is part of the rules here not to call people names like that.

That's like a felon saying "hey if the police tell me to stop, I will stop" - even without the police doing anything, it is evident that the felon is violating the laws - the police is only there to enforce them.

It's funny how aggressive some people here are with the name-calling...I don't even know rhdamascus or whatever his name is, never said anything to him and he goes and calls me a jerk.

So, Deckard, that's what you understand as keeping the D&D civil? Ts ts.... no wonder an intelligent person like Bigtexxxx doesn't feel an urge to continue discussion with primitive name-callers.

Now this is so typical. Being intolerant of intolerance is NOT the same as being intolerant a la texxx - i.e., you disagree = you love terrorism and hate america.

Unbelievable. Being called a traitor simply for disagreeing wouldn't piss you off?

I disagree with you SJC. Therefore you obviously love terrorists, hate america, and are a traitor. End of story.

If it is a foul, my bad.

I'm not going to call you a terrorist or an America hater. I can seperate difference of opinion on political issues from intelligence and morality.

You don't know why those people left. But it's just as plausible in my mind that they left because they didnt' see a point to posting any longer in this forum. All that ever happens is that liberal extremists get pissy because they haven't had their way in a while, so they take it out on conservative posters.

As for one of your later posts...

Calling somebody selfish because (essentially) they are Republican is pretty r****ded. You have this self-righteous BS attitude about you. News flash: somebody's political ideology doens't make them either a good or a bad person. To you, the fact that rich people care about how much they pay in taxes is selfish. To me, it's human nature. Deal with it. Embrace social darwinism, be less stressed about how things are.

Actually this is a perfect send off thread for bigtexxx -- I know he is enjoying it - as are many of us.

Self-righteous is the first word that comes to my mind when I read Batman Jones' posts. He is so caught up in making himself believe that he is right that someone who doesn't share his political ideology is evil. That's actually something he has in common with many who lean to extreme sides of the political spectrum.

And self-righteousness is actually one core reason why conflicts escalate. One can easily see it in this forum...and one can see it in global politics.

Jackie, with all due respect, have you flipped your lid? If search was working, I would find and post instances where members were called traitors and supporters of terrorists by texxx and Trader_J, and they certainly weren't the only ones to do it. Clearly, you haven't been reading this forum, or just have a selective memory. And how you can equate calling someone a traitor to his country to calling someone an *******, something texxx and Trader_J have done more than once, and to more than one member in the past, just boggles the mind.

So texxx is "an intelligent person," for calling someone a traitor to their country, and Batman is one of many, "primitive name-callers."

    Wow. Just... wow.

So, Jackie, do you think calling someone drunk, more times than I could count, which is what texxx and Trader_J have repeatedly done to Batman, is "intelligent?" It's fine and dandy? It isn't as bad as calling that person an *******? Whatever floats your boat, SJC.

    Keep D&D Civil.

    Deckard, seriously..

If you cannot see how much more aggressive BJ's posts are after midnight, you haven't been paying enough attention.

I get the same thing. At least I've admitted it.

I'm curious how long it has been since that kind of insinuation was made. You hold a grudge like it's no one's business.

You still love to hammer me for some lone remark I made in the Nugent thread five years ago which I have admitted was posted just to prolong your agony.

Lighten up. You used to be so much fun...
