Yeah, I am. Not everything. Just seafood and a LITTLE poultry. I added it back in maybe 6 months ago gradually. I've been to the Pappas in Clear Lake and you are right. It is outstanding. It's much better than any other Pappas I've been to.
Is Mambo's Seafood any good? I had a few friends who rave about it. I was thinking I should give it a try.
Sounds like you live near me, out in the Westchase area. I live about 5 minutes from Piccolo's but for some reason I still haven't tried it. When I get italian in the area I usually end up at Collina's or Lasagna House. I will definitely give Piccolo's a try soon though. Also, I've never been that impressed with Sylvia's, but maybe thats because the most important thing for me at a Tex-Mex/Mexican restaurant is the margaritas. I prefer to make the drive to Molina's or El Patio. Cascadas also has a nice outdoor patio in that area, but the ritas suck.
Pappas seafood in Clear Lake is excellent. Pappas Seafood on the gulf freeway near Telephone Road is one of the worst meals I've ever had.
Oh, forgot one more category of food I love. Spanish Tapas. I loved Beso, but since they closed the only place I've been recently is Mi Luna. There is a place near my house at Westheimer/Kirkwood called Rioja, but I haven't been there. Anyone tried it?
If you like Spanish Tapas, you ought to try Italian Tapas. Check out Dolce Vita Pizzeria on lower Westheimer in Montrose. They have a bunch of Italian tapas-style appetizers. You can make a meal out of them. Awesome.
i love seafood restaurants in houston. more the style of cooking than the quality i suppose. new york seafood tends to be bland and boring. san fran is an awesome place for seafood.
