Double this, had it today. The tables fill up but nobody gets loud so you can still have a conversation at normal volume.

Your mom already took care of that.

(ha! Look at that! I haven't said a "your mom" joke in 20 years!... it feels so... juvenile....)

Just remembered,,,Jeannine's Bistro is unique. Belgium. Previously Cafe Montrose.

Their french fries are routinely voted best in town. (Ironic, you can't get a burger at the place with the best fries...haha) Entrees are hardy. A lot of stuff you can't get anywhere else. The Flemish Beef Stew would be great on a cold night like tonight.

If you like mussels, they have many to choose from. Also, routinely voted best in town.

This place has that odd "Denny's booths circa 1960" feel to it, but the fried chicken is the best in town. Just order it to go (and call ahead.)

As to the CFS? One of the worst I've had in Houston. I was amazed anyone could find it any good. Maybe they had an off night, but it was borderline inedible.

Never tried the CFS. But the fried shrimp and fried chicken are very good.

If ever in Kehma, try T-Bone Tom's CFS. Very good.

I'll give another vote for Patrenella's. I think their food is pretty damn good, especially their pasta dishes. I'd stay away from their more expensive specials, as I think their pastas are the best things they have. They'll even split dishes for you which is what we do a lot, because the portions are fairly large. My favorite dish there is the Spaghetti Pomodoro, which is $14. They also have awesome freshly made fried mozzarella.

It's a quieter atmosphere than Vincent's, and I think the food is better.

I didn't know there used to be one on Bellaire. Interesting.

Nick is there all the time. Very friendly guy. I'm not Italian, but I imagine he's like the common Italian uncle. He remembers his customers' faces, which is one of the reasons why I love the place.

Went here tonight with my girlfriend. This is the 5th different Thai restaurant we have tried, it was great. Cheese rolls were really good and the food and service were great.
