Dwight at the 4 & Asik at the 5, you say? Interesting....

If Portland got asik, their line up would look sick on paper.
    Lillard
    Matthews
    Batum
    Aldridge
    Asik

They'd have it all, shooting, defense, low post scoring.

I hate when I read articles saying Harden did this all by himself because he didn't. We lead the league in scoring with contributions from EVERYBODY. This myth Harden's a one man show only comes from those who don't follow the Rockets regularly

He was easily the biggest factor in the Rockets success this year, he had a somewhat lackluster 2nd half of the year in terms of shooting percentage which I think makes people forget just how good he was in the first half of the season.

That is an interesting point on Smith and Asik.

I didn't think before I read that, that Howard and Asik could co-exist, now I think it could be a possibility.

I mean for whatever offensive problems it causes, it would make us a top 3 defense. I don't think it would hurt us significantly enough for that top 3 defensive value.

Harden and Lin can cheat as much as they want on D with Howard and Asik sitting behind them. Would create more steals and more fast breaks because of this.

    A couple of valid points:
    1. Dwight should sleep on Dreams front porch when he's in town to improve his midrange, free throws, and anitquated low post moves.
    2. If we played Greg and Asik together, why can't we play Dwight and Asik together?
    3. Gives Lin, Parsons, and Harden more room to drive and on perimeter. Also gives them a chance to take a break on offense and throw into D12 for a couple of possesions
    4. Asik, would be an awesome clean up man for boards

DMorey just renounce every contract up now and let's go with it.

If Dwight comes to houston, all I got to say to the rest of the NBA is:

I would gladly take my chances on Asik and Howard. If after a year or two it did not work. Asik is a great asset to trade. Our rebounding we would be number one and our interior defense would be awesome.

I agree. Chris Paul is a future HOF'er but I just don't see how 2 guys who need the ball in their hands every trip down will work well together. Lin had no problem letting Harden be the Alpha Dog and I don't think Asik would mind D12... In fact Asik will probably average 2-4 more ppg having Howard down low... HOU needs a 4 in a HUGE way!!

If OKC got to the Finals with Harden, Westbrook, and to a lesser extent Durant as guys who needed the ball in their hands a lot to score then we can manage with Paul and Harden. We could figure it out.

But I also think McHale mentoring Dwight would be huge and having Dwight finishing pick-and-rolls would be amazing.

I'm literally torn on which guy I'd rather have but I'll be ecstatic if we get either.

    I don't understand this.

Harden played with guys that most often than not had to have the ball in their hands to be effective, why wouldn't he be effective with a playmaking PG that can spot up just as well as he can break down a D for an easy lay up?

I understand Harden plays better with the ball in his hands, but even in McHale's "offense" the system works better when the ball is moving from corner to corner fluently.

Which leads me to believe that any super-star (or borderline) can be slotted into our lineup and it be just as effective as the last. Wouldn't you?

Lin and Asik for Lillard plus bad contract would be interesting but seriously doubt any one in portland would do that

I heard this exact same thing about a year ago... It went something like: "A Kobe-Dwight-Nash combo would put the entire NBA on notice."

    Hmm... How'd that work out?

Why would we do that? Lillard is good and all but I feel his stats are a little inflated due to the high amount of minutes he plays and the fact that he's basically the only guard they have. He's also like 23 years old so he's not THAT young. Although he was better than Lin this year they both have potential and the upgrade wont be substantial.

Second and more importantly, why would we give up our defensive anchor and 2nd most important player just for Lillard without getting any big defensive presence down low. If we gave that offer to Portland they would probably take it. But luckily our GM wont offer

I assume he meant after we got Dwight Howard, and I strongly doubt that Portland would take that trade. Lillard will be a top offensive PG for years to come.
