I loved that movie when I was a kid. My contribution is The Specials, it's about what the 6th or 7th best super hero group does when they aren't fighting pterodactyls and anal slugs.
Noises Off It's about a play where anything and everything goes wrong. It was one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. Pretty good cast too.
"It's a space herpe!" "Sardines!" "Problem? I haven't got a problem. I've got f@#king problems. Plural." Fine choices, all. My choices include: "Le Pacte des loups" "Equilibrium" (2002) "Valmont" (which I preferred to "Dangerous Liasons") "Much Ado About Nothing" (1993 - overlooked Shakespeare adaptation. Just try to ignore Keanu.) and for those who love classics, the great but often overlooked "Bad Day at Black Rock" But for a really, good cheesy film night, you can't go wrong with "Battle Beyond the Stars"! Love that ship!
City of God is real good Mine would be Shinobi [Heart Under Blade], which has subtitles as well, but I've watched this movie like 10 times and I love it: http://imdb.com/title/tt0475723/
Raising Victor Vargas - A sweet coming of age story with the most realistic portryal of pre-teen/teenage sexuality and courtship I've ever seen.
The brotherhoold of the wolf aka Le pace des Loup, was somewhat based on the class system in France. It was hard to understand because it went in so many directions, of an allegory, a horror, thriller, mystery, and philosophical film. I don't understand french history so I found myself a bit lost, although I thought the film was pretty good had I understood the plot better. Plus, Bellucci's boobies in a movie make it atleast watchable. Equilibrium was bad. Now, for my suggestions Made with Jon Favreau & Vince Vaugn 2046, possibly the most aesthetically rich movie I have ever seen. Soundtrack to match the haunting images. Harlem Nights, quite possibly the biggest and funniest collection of african american actors and comedians. Raising Arizona-don't know if people think its obscure or not, but i found this movie to be hilarious. Cage at his best. Frantic with harrison ford.
Had never heard of it before and just happened to catch it on Comedy Central this morning. Very funny and original. Main character played (and played very well) by Steve Buscemi. Here's the synopsis...
The French film "Time Out" and Afghan films "Khandahar" and "Osama." These aren't really obscure worldwide, but in the US.
you forgot the best of all: Broken Lizard's Club Dread. Most underrated comedy of all time. Much better than SuperTroopers, and perhaps the most rewatchable comedy of this decade. "YOU'VE MANACLED ME TO MY DEATHBED, YOU PICADILLY w****!"
'freeway' starring reese witherspoon and k. sutherland. its a modern day adaptation of red riding hood, where red riding hood, is a hot as hell, trailer trash teen and the big bad wolf as a serial rapist/killer.
I second both of these. Equilibrium was good. I will also add "Attack the Gas Station", a little known Korean (I think it was Korean) comedy that had me rolling.
Totally agree... Great movie.. Most recently I've really enjoyed a movie called My Big Fat Independent Movie
