Kubiak will have no choice and prepare Keenum to be the starter during the bye and to play against the colts two weeks from now. He played really well showed poise and we showed some signs of a vertical passing game. I say we play Keenum the rest of the season and se what we got with him.
I wonder if mcnair is putting in a call to an offensive coordinator, id settle cam cameron at this point.
could EASILY see kubiak starting schaub vs. indy if he's healthy... i liked what i saw from case, but its not up to me, or to the fans...its up to kub, and i think he'll stick with matt....only way i see us going back to keenum once were mathematically eliminated
Wrong, the main problem has been and will continue to be the coward at the center of it all. Until we dig up the weed at its root, it will continue to grow back again and again. Tantalizing potential, but no heart to show up in the most important times. That's going to always be the motto for a Gary Kubiak-coached team. Gotta hope that today was another step towards getting a coach who is a real winner in here.
I think Gary is a very nice man; but what you see is what you get. What do you see? I see a .500 record over his tenure. We are pretty close to it right now.
Here is what i dont understand, can anyone tell me because i dont know, when was the last time that a coach who called his own plays went deep into the playoffs? I just see a huge advantage for a coordinator sitting up in a box with an aerial view dissecting the defense while the head coach does his job. I really would like to know the last one though.
Sean Payton called the Saints plays in 2009 (Super Bowl Champs) Mike McCarthy called the Packers plays in 2010 (Super Bowl Champs) Not sure if Kevin Gilbride or Tom Coughlin actually called the plays in 2011, but both were down on the field... and not in a box (Super Bowl Champs).
OK... but you can't fire the owner, so there's no sense in calling him out. The main problem is who you have to "run" your football team. This team is not "run" by McNair. Its not really run by Rick Smith either. Its currently being run via committee... Kubiak handles the players/personnel, Smith handles the contract negotiations and cap issues, and the other president handles the business side of things.
It's doubtful McNair doesn't have the final say for any transaction when he wants. Regardless, the owner is the employer. He can definately be called out.
Someone please let me know why Kubiak couldn't figure out that he needed an extra blocker in the backfield during those third and longs we had all of the fourth quarter? I'd love to hear his reasoning behind that...
Bring Schaub back? The next game is at home. Can you imagine how the crowd will react? Nope, McNair doesn't want a repeat of what happened last week. Keenum starts against Indy. Book it.
