If you don't like the Harry Potter books, why would you post a response in this thread...?

I think I know how to take care of this.

Isn't it amazing that the people who speak out about things loudest, are usually too ignorant or lazy to research the very thing they condem, and are ready to condem something based soley on someone elses opinion.

do us all a favor before a rant like this.

PICK UP THE BOOK AND READ IT BEFORE YOU KNOCK IT.

Nomar, are you sure you're feeling alright? You're making some awfully strange remarks tonight.

I can't do anything about that **** you're putting in my posts Kagy.

But don't think I'm stupid enough to let you bait me into doing something that will get me banned.

Big, fat, wet, juicy  on this whole thread. You Potter crack addicts are sensitive about your juice, eh?

You seem awfully tightly wound, Nomar. Maybe you should read a book, and relax a bit.

Well, it's a Friday night after all. ...

Let's hope Nomar's not getting ready for a big night by reading a thread about Harry Potter. :p

Oops - they don't have Tolkien under "literature." He's listed under "science fiction and fantasy." Do you want to let amazon know about their mistake or should I?

Good God, Nomar! The Silmarillion has to be the most boring book I've ever read! You actually liked it? Yeeech.

Besides Dune, LOTR, Ender's Game, and Harry Potter, I suggest reading Asimov's Foundation series. Pretty good stuff.

Its my favorite fantasy book of all time Vescey.

Mrs. JB - I for one don't really care for your snide remarks in various threads. Quite irritating if you don't mind me saying.

    Achebe - Nice, dude. Nice.

And your condescending attitude towards those who don't share your taste in books you haven't even read isn't irritating?

As for the literature argument, are you saying that gems like Treasure Island, The Arabian Nights & Tom Sawyer aren't literature? They were all geared towards a young audience.

For the love of God, Nomar -- you're insulting Harry Potter readers in two separate threads, but you can't take a little good-natured ribbing back? Not a good trait to have, if you don't mind me saying. ;)

Some people can dish it out but can't take it.

Rock on Mrs. JB - Even if/when I don't agree with you, I admire your style and appreciate your perspective.

Did you save this argument as your ace in the hole?

Man that's some funny stuff Nomar.

I detested the first movie, but I think the books may (gratuitous bold for nomar) be cool. I don't judge books based on their movies. I doubt I'll be reading them any time soon tho.
