Doesn't it really depend on whom we get for him?

    thumbs:

Jalen Rose undercut Mario Elie during the 95-96 season on a breakaway fastbreak layup which he had no business contesting. I will never forget how he smirked as Elie lay writhing in pain on the Summit floor. To this day, there is not a single player in basketball whom I have more hatred for, Karl Malone included. From his cheap shot on Elie and his ego problems in Chicago, there is not a single man in the NBA who I would less hate to have on this team.

The problem in Chicago was not created by him only. He said it many times that he is not willing to defer to a lesser player. As soon as he went to Raptors, he admitted in the very beginning that VC is a better player and it's VC's team. His action followed his words, and his desire to win is almost admirable. He rushed back to play with 3 screws in his shooting hand. I am not saying he has equal or better value as SF, but he's not a bad person, considering the works he's done in the community. Yes, that was a bad play, but I wouldn't label him that way, because he's unlike Malone, who seems to make undercutting people as a living.

One thing i do know and i can add to your thoughts Doc is that Steve is a very emotional person. I talked to him once here when he was under pressure by the fans and media, he stated that he didn't come out for a while becuase "noboy likes him here in Houston anymore." I am thinking maybe he being emotional because of all the talks that have surrounded him. I guess we won't know until the offseason is over.

    I'd rather do this deal.

    Houston sends Cato/Mobley to Dallas.
    Houston sends Francis to Indiana.

    Dallas sends Jamison/Delk to Houston.
    Dallas sends Fortson to Indiana.

    Indiana sends Harrington/Tinsley/Pollard to Houston.
    Indiana sends Croshere to Dallas.

I hate giving up JJ, but that'd sure change the makeup of the team. Then we sign Barry for the MLE to be our starting/backup PG/SG.

    C: Yao/Pollard/FA
    PF: Harrington/Taylor/Spoon
    SF: Jamison/Nachbar/A.Griffin(IL)
    SG: JJ/Piatkowski
    PG: Tinsley/Delk/Wilks(IL)

It is fun to dream. :D

How about Jason Terry, Stephen Jackson, and the #17 pick for Steve Francis and Boki?

Exactly!!! I would rather keep Steve than trade him for this garbage that is rumored! JVG is not that dumb!!!! If he is, then he should be gone (not Steve)!! Jalen Rose, Mo Pete and a draft pick for Francis. How the HELL does that help this team? That nucleus couldn't even get into the playoffs in the East.

I swear, I will buy season tickets as close as I can to the bench and yell at JVG as much as I can if this deal goes down. I have never doubted Doc and I still don't. BUT THIS IS BS!

That doesn't come anywhere near the Jason Wiliams, Mike Miller, and Stromile Swift deal you offered about 6 weeks ago. :D

    So... "No".

both those trades are horrible. if we're taking on a draft pick it better be okafor or some kid that we can package to get a real pf. getting rose and pete solves nothing imo.

Didn't Jackson sign a lowball contract with a player opt out this summer?

Everyone hates JVG? Who is "everyone"? Could you be a little more vague?

Sorry, but I find Doc Rocket's posts to be anything but informative. They are rambling and incoherent and really tell us nothing. All they do is get people all fired up for no particular reason.

Wouldn't trading Stevie to the Bobcats have the same effect as the discussion Gater and I were having on the draft expansion thread?

We would be below the cap and lose the MLE as well as losing value on our TE.

Combine that with your love of the old school Jazz in general and Stockton, Malone and Sloan in specific and this board must be awfully lonely for you sometimes.

People get fired up because Doc has an indisputable inside connection. Clutch has told us that repeatedly. Of course, several of us have also told you Malone's a dirty bum, and you didn't believe that either.

Don't listen to the Jazz fans, Doc. You rule.

Batman, this topic has nothing to do with the Jazz whatsoever.

Ah, and in this case, what has that "inside connection" gotten us? A vague, offhand comment by Steve, most likely made in frustration right after a loss? Sorry, that still doesn't mean much.

And you need to grow up.

Let Rudy stay retired, his days are over with. He's the main reason why this team has a loser attitude.
