Same, not good evidence. Multiple fallacies here, but the main ones are cherry-picking and correlation.
You live in a delusion wherein everyone in D.C. is selflessly devoted to doing everything possible to improve the lives of poor and middle-class Americans. The fact is that our federal government is monolithically CORRUPT and its sole purpose is to rob us of as much of our money as possible.
American billionaires are 2.5 times more likely to be affiliated with the Republican Party than the Democratic Party. In Europe, billionaire politicians leaned even more to the right. https://www.cnbc.com/2023/10/26/billionaire-politicians-shockingly-common-study.html
We were talking about income and party affiliation. I haven't said anything about federal government corruption in this thread. Your assumptions and multiple fallacies need to be checked and corrected in order for you to discern things accurately.
I live under no such delusions There are levels to it Just noticed you joined Oct 2023 Now I am wondering if this a troll alt account for a different account Rocket River
Lmao they got you good, boy. The oligarchs have no parties and buy politicians for fun. The politicians they buy position themselves to better benefit the oligarchs so they can gain a patron. What do you think the oligarchs care about the most?
The OP is right that wealthy counties like Fairfax, VA tend to vote Democrat. Along with Austin County, Santa Clara County and most of the wealthiest counties that also happen to have the highest per capita GDPs in the US. It’s almost as though those people that both have and produce a lot of wealth seem to know something.
Your friends seem to believe that Democratic politicians are working against the interests of the mega-rich, which simply isn't true. Why don't you enlighten them?
Republicans such as Mitch McConnell, Mitt Romney, Liz Cheney, and others are as equally corrupt as Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, etc. They are all a part of the Washington Establishment. However, most leftists here apparently believe that all Republicans are evil vermin while their Democratic masters are selfless servants of the people.
Oh please. Mark Zuckerberg funneled hundreds of millions of dollars into the 20' election on behalf of your Democratic masters. Larry Fink of Blackrock is another huge contributor to the Washington Establishment. Hello!
That’s what I said, to a degree. It’s not black and white. It’s grey. Or a mix of red and green if you want to get poetic. However, I think GOP politicians are much less idealistic as a whole and much more susceptible to being bought as many of them are driven by financial reasons. It’s a systemic, circular issue. You get in, get corrupt, get rich….you don’t get out.
