I thought it was Cook's best game as a Rocket. Outside the very first one where he did a great job cheering on the bench, of course.
Oh absolutely. Chuck's position defense is great but Deke's shotblocking changes the game much more. Now we know why Adelman was not playing Deke in regular season. He was keeping the 43-5? years old legs fresh for the playoffs. The only thing stopping Deke last night was some off hand shoving and steps from Greg Olden. Aldridge is a great talent but I am wondering if he is PF lite in the version of Chris Bosh, where physical play of playoffs might be too much for his thin frame. Still too early to tell and he might start to heat up in next couple of games but atleast we have some physical defenders to put on him for fouls.
http://www.82games.com/ilardi2.htm#table Look at Chuck Hayes, the "beastiest" defensive player in the league. Hayes, Deke, Yao, Artest, and Landry all have awesome stats/
Chuck amazingly improves his game. He's already one of the better role player in the league. He's not going to shut down an all-star PF every night but I bet he can handle Aldrige quite well.
I never thought I'd be bummed about CHuck getting more playing time. This injury is a serious buzz kill.
