    Haven't Jackie Chan movies always been slapstick comedy? In the early 80s I had dubbed videos of Young Master and Drunken Master.

    I remember an magazine interview where he admits he is more of a acrobatics performer then a kung fu artist although he study a little, he is no where in the league of Jet Li or Donnie yen.

    If you're looking for the best classic Saturday-morning kung fu movie, the answer has got to be Five Deadly Venoms.

    But if you're looking for a more modernized, action-packed kung fu movie, there are too many to choose from.

    I meant earlier than that., At least it seemed earlier than that based on the quality, or severe lack thereof. I don't know the names, because I only came across these movies while channel surfing. But they really left a deep impression because the story seems very generic, and the fighting wasn't the acrobatic type that we're used to seeing from Jackie Chan.

    Ok, this has always been a favorite subject of mine.

    First, props to the person who mentioned Super Ninjas. Just an epic kung fu movie.

    Of the 'modern' jung fu movies, House of Flying Daggers is fun, but Iron Monkey is king - Donnie Yen is just so good at what he does.

    However, for pure badassery, look no further than, yes it's true, Jackie CHan in Dragon Fist.

    One of the few times Chan did NOT play a comedic of slapstick role. In fact, his character in this one never rises above 'grim', but he is an absolutely awesoem serious tortured hero in this one. If you haven't seen it, try not to get the crapfest dvd version, try to find a rip of the VHS version. Trust me on this one.

    Watch this it is freaking crazy!

    I watched it a couple of years ago and man was I shocked, its called Battle Royale.
