If you're talking about "real" and classic kung fu movies, it begins and, if it weren't for Bruce Lee's movies, ends here!

Five Deadly Venoms has one of the best stories in a kung fu film but for the fight scene, very mediocre...

Both awesome clips. This is what I'm talking about. Badass asian fighting movies. I love my Hollywood action flicks, but 99% of the fights in them can't hold a candle to good ol' hong-kongesque fighters.

From a mid-80s female angle, check anything with Yukari Oshima, Moon Lee or Kim Maree Penn.

I was steaming mad reading every single post and nobody mentioning this film. +1 for Tinman.
Master of the Flying Guillotine is by far the greatest kung fu movie ever.

Just the name of the movie is awesome enough to stand on its own!

He has a ****ing flying guillotine people! He lands a basket with teeth on your head and pulls it clean off. How is that not the most awesome thing ever?

Five Deadly Venoms is a very close 2nd though, that movie is badass too.

Once upon a time in China 1, 2, and 3. Classic Jet Li movies.

The fight scenes in the old Jackie Chan movies were also really good, back when he relied on kung fu skills more than slapstick comedy. But they're probably not available in English. If you do find some, you'd be amazed at the skills of a young Jackie Chan.

I love the old Jet Li movies. I think his remake of chinese connection called fist of legend was quite good.

Merantau will not disappoint, I guarantee it.. Caught the flick last week in Austin, Silat which is basically the tiger claw style is used very well in the movie. Not to mention some pretty good beat downs like in Ong Bak...
