Went to 2 new places yesterday and enjoyed them both: Under the Volcano - Very laid back bar with an older, successful looking crowd - (we did not fit in, but everyone there was nice) Great drinks (Frozen rum & cokes) Good prices Stag's Head- Very nice place, great prices- Sundays they have $10.00 pitchers of any beer! ANY BEER. Hell of a deal
Jet Lounge next to Toyota center. Every Saturday night, we have THE BEST Underground House music in Houston. Great sound system, awesome vibe, and we like to go a little late
i third canyon creek. also really love taps on washington, they carry draft la fin du monde, which I have never seen before. howl at the moon is boring and kind of annoying. pub fiction was alright. i'm a fan of velvet melvin and cellar bar. not in a cool part of town, but close to me, and most importantly quiet. I hate the meat market feel of the club scene, I like getting a beer in jeans and a tshirt and not having coiffed try-hard losers follow my friends and I around with unwanted come ons.
I've been to both places (randomly) both are pretty cool chill spots. I thought that taco truck that came thru at Cottonwood was pretty sweet, there stuff is delish but pricey.
