I'll give you a hint. The number of smilies in your post I quoted is about a third of the normal amount of smilies in the mystery posters' posts.
I have had many many good experiences with clutchfans members, whether it was in person or by email. At one time in my life, this site was very important to me (it still is but not to the degree it once was). It along with many of its members helped me through some lonely times. There is no way that I can list every person here that has been helpful to me but I will do the best I can: Jeff - I can't remember what started me in talking with him - probably something related to music. He was gracious enough to let me call him at home (after an initial email) and I picked his brain about many things - mainly the Rockets and music. Without a doubt, Jeff helped shape my musical taste to this day. He let me know that there was so much good music out there - you just had to look for it. His kindness in allowing me to spend the night at his place back during the Smeg thing in 2003 (or was it in 2004?) will never be forgotten by me. We still talk some by email but he's a busy guy as am I now. A great, great guy and friend.. ROXRAN - He moved to Tennessee awhile back and I met up with him. Really cool guy - we used to talk on the phone some but sorta lost touch (mainly because I got married). Highly underrated poster and I miss talking to him. Then there were the posters that I met at the Smeg thing - Rocketman95, Fatty Fat b*stard, Trader_Jorge, RocketsPimp, Drewdog, Antisonic, rockHEAD, mr. oily (who changed his name to something else - can't remember what to), Smeggy, heypartner, Behad, Crisco Kidd, Rockets2K, RIET, Lynus302, Kim, plus various members of the OOTP sim league. I remember in particular talking to RIET, Kim, and Lynus at the game as well as sitting next to AntiSonic and mr. oily. It was cool and surreal at the same time to be talking to actual people after having only been able to talk to him behind a keyboard (Lynus was someone that I had talked to by email before meeting him in person about heavy metal music - great guy). Then there are posters on the board that have always made me smile - guys like Invisible Fan (who sent me a great encouraging email about my marriage problems last fall), MadMax, Rocketman95, and TBar. Mango was someone that I used to talk to all the time by email and he was very instrumental in filling me in on the history of the BBS and helping me to stay under control with my posting, lol! Then there were my buddies from the OOTP baseball league like Heath, boville, DVauthrin, Puedlfor, The Cat, Chuck G, fatman, moestavern19, finalsbound, kam, Nomar, Raven Lunatic, BGM, nit, Dean Curtis, Castor27, Buck88, Diehard_Rocket, SteveFrancis3 and even NYKRule. I filled up many hours by going to the chat room and talking the Sim league (along with many other topics) with these guys. I was lucky enough to get to meet some of them in person - all of them are great guys and have been great friends. Finally, I have to make special mention to Batman Jones, mc mark, and Win for turning me on to certain musical artists such as Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Roxy Music, The Byrds, The Band, and many others. This BBS has helped me learn about so many new things but none moreso than music.
Haha! How could I forget ima_drummer2k!! Put him in the category of posters like TBar and MadMax that always make me laugh and/or smile.
D'OH forgot about Darkhorse. Good guy. I'll throw in MadMax too since I had lunch with him, Rhester and Krosfyah at Yao's. I know there's a few more clutchfans I met with the Rowdies but I forgot your screen names. Here's to Y'ALL
Man, I apologize. I will now have to get extremely f*cked up this evening watching the Rockets game in order to suppress the inferiority complex and personal shame I have just developed.
Hmmm, its been awhile but Ive met SwolyD (a very nice guy), AKPerez (a very nice, pretty young woman), RMtex (Cool Cat), and Stack (nice fellow) at Live and whooped everyone in a Texas Holdem tournement that night. I bought a round one night for a group of Clutchfans at Live but was tied up talking with a buddy. Ive bought tickets from someone here and also given tickets to a Rockets game or two but dont remember thier names...sorry.
Damn...I can't believe that I named all these people (especially NYKRule) and I left out Zac_D. So sorry, Zac - please accept all of my pardons and apologies.
man I got to this thread a little late but every clutch member Ive had the pleasure to meet, its been a good time. I have been thinking this for a while. Good group of guys...and most of them have skills on the court, the other few either made a good cheerleader coach or had a hard time playing against girls, therefore apologizing after sending their shot across the court. not exactly how i remember it but if it makes you feel better Im sure I forgot some guys but literally everyone I have met through clutch, have been cool as hell. Look forward to getting together again with the few Ive already met and meeting others.
MasterBaiter- i bought a phone from him, great guy, met halfway, and on the spot discount as well... he then bought a sd card from me...
I know Dr. Stranglove and the notorious GWayneco and both are real life good friends. Met Jeff at a couple concerts where he was performing. RMT at another concert where he was performing, Met RM95 in the audience at a show. Placed second in Andymoons poker tourney to Onglecaf, met Macalu, Aceshigh and others there. All experiences with Clutchfans in the real world so far for me have been very pleasant.
Another Brother offered some free tickets to a show at that place in the MARQ-E....it happened to be the night before my buddy Jake went to Iraq. I took him and his wife to the show. They both had a lot of laughs, which they needed desparately. Later, he wrote from the Green Zone and thanked me for dragging them out. Jake came back ok, btw.
